so when i first learned of this movie, i was quite excited at the prospect of a dark retelling of a fairy tale. Theni found out who was making it and i thought, ''oh god its going to be another basket case narrating the story and pretty much spoiling it and overly dramatising her emotions'' im not too proud to admit i was wrong. The romance of this movie is little if none existent most of it is displayed through their sexual tension toward one another rather than romantic gestures. The fact that these two are in love is secondary, maybe even irrelivant (Tankyou, let me in) it only serves to present her boyfriend as a suspect. This movie is primarily a murder mystery with a supernatural twist. It keeps true to the legend, while building its own version. And i have to say all my assumptions of who was the wolf were wrong. Which left me quite suprised but still able to put the pieces together.
As for the wolf, yo dont actually get to see it transform which was both a high and low for me, A low because half the horror of a werewolf is the transformation and a high because at least it didnt pop when turning (you know what i mean) at the same time while twilight seemed to want their wolves to be pretty, they made a change with this movie, giving the wolf back its animalistic charm and appetite for killing, at one point in the movie ripping a mans arm off with its teeth.

i wouldnt call this movie a romantic action or horror, id call it a supernatural murder mystery. anywho, for anyone who likes that sort of thing or even has a penchant for fairytales then id reccomend watching it. It sure beats Kristen Stewart stuttering like a moron as her boyfriend gets wood over the smell of her hehe
