Description
Slimline pencil turned in birdseye maple. Sanded with 800-grit sandpaper and finished with turner's wax.Offered as a gift for Christmas for a collegue of my wife.

Hey this is a great pen! I wish my father had the equipment so i could make pens. But alas carving it out by hand will take me forever, i might give it a go though....

If you father has a press drill, you can use that to create pens. It does take a little bit of work to set up the piece to be able to do it but I have seen it. A pen lathe isn't that expensive either. Just take a lot at [link] . That is a very good source for pen turning.
I couldn't for the life of me be carving pens. It's not something I'm comfortable with. I have a lot of respect for people who carve wood.
