As previously stated, (Somewhere, I'm sure I did. I think) this comic is set in Yellowstone! Without humans of course. I love the environments from there, and some of those places will have importance to the story later.
These panels depict a classic Yellowstone scene, a field of geysers and burning vents underfoot, another shot of Yellowstone's Grand Canyon, and a shot of a hydrothermal mat (Not sure abt the name of these specific areas, but its where another swath of land is covered in water rich with minerals and bacteria, and the trees are boiled alive usually.)
