The first of many more Avatar: Legend of Korra fanarts to come!It's a sort of contemporary Korra. I had first intended to create a Supergirl/Korra type crossover, or just make her look like a superhero somehow, but then I didn't think I wanted to show her midriff (maybe I'll do one like that sometime in the future) and so this is what resulted.
I know my anatomy's probably a little off still, though I had help from a friend ([link] ) with the anatomical corrections/shading and such. It's probably still a little off, but whatever.
It's certainly improvement. (from my first pieces of art) Progress is still progress, no matter how big or little it is.

No need to MAKE her look like a superhero. She already is one. While the Avatar series is not in the superhero genre, she pretty much qualifies as one anyhow, as she possesses unique and great power, acts as an iconic symbol of freedom and justice to the world she lives in, has a signature outfit, has a large city which acts as her home-base, has a special lair of some sort (Air-Temple Island), is tied somehow into cultural mythology (specifically the mythology of Avatar, which is a strange mix of multiple real-world religions and philosophies, Buddhism being one of the more recognizable factors), and goes by an instantly recognizable alias apart from her own name (in this case the title of Avatar).
