Haneul had a few years of bad history with his sister, Saja, but he is one of the nicest people you can meet. Actually, his past is the reason that he is a nice person. Even though he had low confidence at the time, he wouldn't let his friends down. He had enough confidence to protect them if he really has to.

Though, he didn't do very many things that has to do with confidence. But it did had a huge increase when his sister was defeated. But even before then, he has Kabocha under his protection. The night she came to his house crying, he knew that he needed to do something to protect her from Saja. He didn't even care that Saja was nice when Kabocha was there, Haneul still wanted to make sure Kabocha was safe, which she was. And no matter how scared he was, Haneul was glad that Kabocha was safe all night.

The only other time Haneul protected someone was his long best friend, Cameron. It wasn't any part of fighting, but to protect their friendship. Haneul was not a great talker, in neither talking things out or in arguments. A lot of talks and arguments happen between them, but a few times Haneul kept calm and talked it out, which saved their friendship many times. Another time he gained confidence to protect Cameron, but also Kabocha, was when Saja told Cameron a bunch of lies and he told Cameron to not believe it and Kabocha to watch out.

Other than those two, Haneul kept to himself. He only had enough confidence to protect himself. But the thing is, he had to deal with Saja since her evil turn around since he was only ten years old. Her murder attempts and dark magic for torture is the reason he's scared. He had to deal with her everyday for eight years before her death. He actually had to build his confidence to stay home every hour of every day. So confidence is a perfect main trait for Haneul.

Recently at the scene where the group got hit, Haneul has been controlled to think he's scared, which is his opposite trait. He is now scared of everything, literally everything. He no longer has that same confidence he took so long to build up. Haneul has been keeping his distance from everyone and everything. Every phobia you can think of, Haneul now has. And he could be like this forever if he doesn't know how to not be scared anymore.
