Description The way Amethyst has been feeling has went on for a whole week. She was being mean to Taehyun, keeping to herself, getting angry, and cry to sleep. When Amethyst becomes very emotional, it tends to last for a while. But when it comes to her singing career and have it possibly be nonexistent, she will be upset for weeks, maybe even months. Only one week went by, but it doesn't seem like it's getting any better. It was Friday, and Amethyst is more than happy that she will have the weekend alone. Maybe she can somehow collect herself if she had some peace and some rest from the outside world.

After school, Amethyst decided to go to Starbucks and sit in the store to keep calm. She got her normal strawberries and crème frappuccino and took a seat on a comfy chair in the corner next to a window. She put her knees to her chest and held them there, drinking her drink and looking out the window. It was raining. It was peaceful but painful at the same time for Amethyst.

She was lost in her thoughts. She tried to think of many things as she can to cheer herself up, but nothing is working. She never once took her eyes away from the gloomy view that was outside.

Taehyun happened to enter the same Starbucks and ordered what he wanted. He was just going to leave, looking from afar, he saw Amethyst. He was very hesitant to meet her due to how she was acting all week. But it could be that she is not used to having company and she's scared to share what's wrong, but deep down she could really use a friend, no matter how many times she refuses.

Taehyun grabbed his coffee and went to meet her. He sat down at the chair next to hers and was about to greet her, when Amethyst heard someone sat next to her and it was the last person she wanted to see, so she got up and was about to leave. But Taehyun stood up immediately and touched her shoulder. He gave her that look of 'no, you're not going until you talk.' It was a scary look to Amethyst, since she never seen him look so serious before. Amethyst, who became angered again because Taehyun disturbed her precious alone time, sat back down, but looked out the window, trying to avoid all contact with him.

"It's nice to see you too." Taehyun said as he sat down also. He sincerely meant it too, but it hurt him when he wasn't greeted.

Amethyst didn't respond. She tried her hardest to go back to her deep thought, but Taehyun's presence wasn't helping at all. With how she was acting all week, Taehyun knew that Amethyst isn't going to say anything soon. And with that, he decided to speak first, making a deal.

"I'm not letting you leave until you talk, even if it means we'll be here all day."

Amethyst would do anything to leave right now, but she doesn't want to see that scary look from Taehyun again. She stayed silent, and having Taehyun being here makes it seem like the day is going by longer, five minutes feels like three hours. She hoped that if she doesn't speak, the guy will leave.

Taehyun on the other hand knew what she was thinking, that if she stays quiet, he would leave. But as a gentleman, he won't do that. All day means all day if it comes to that. But the silence between them is awkward. He knew Amethyst is uncomfortable knowing there's someone next to her and it has quiet for the past twenty minutes. Not once did she turn away from looking out the window, or moved from her position of her holding her knees to her chest. Taehyun took a sip of his coffee, thinking of a way to break the silence, and possibly get his friend to talk. One thought came to mind, and he finally broke the awkward silence.

"I said earlier this week that I may or may not give the best advice, and I also was about to say something else but you cut me off." Taehyun started off. "I was going to say that I'm always open when someone needs to get something of their chest. Honestly, you have been doing a good job at it, but you're doing it the wrong way."

Amethyst, even though it doesn't look like it, was listening to him.

"I don't mind if you take your anger out on me. But you can be less harsh about it. I don't know what I did wrong to be treated the way you've been treating me. I didn't mind it at first because I thought you were mad at something and you would be over it the next day. But seeing you like this everyday so far, it's starting to get to me a little, the way you've been treating me I mean."

"I'm sorry..." Amethyst mumbled under her breath.

"Pardon me?" Taehyun didn't understand her.

Amethyst finally turned her head to look at Taehyun for the first time in an hour. "I'm sorry for being mean to you."

"It's alright." Taehyun was happy to hear something that wasn't offensive for once and finally having some sort of contact. That sweet voice again, the Amethyst he knows is back. "Can you please tell me what's wrong?"

Amethyst shy away again, staying silent.

"It's good to talk about it if you want to get it out of your system. I don't want you to end up bottling up all this anger and pain you have and then explode later." Taehyun broke the silence again. "I may or may not be able to help, but I'm open to hearing you talk about it."

"How do I know if you care?" Amethyst has a high guard. She doesn't want to talk about her life with just anyone.

"I care more than you think."

"How do I know if I can trust you?" Amethyst asked another question.

"I told you earlier that I promise that you can trust me."

This guy has a heart of gold...Amethyst thought to herself. But it's so hard to trust just anyone with anything that is about me...the last thing I want is to be more down on myself....

"If you won't tell me what's wrong, can I at least know why?" Taehyun tried to start the conversation again somewhere.

"I don't want to be made fun of." Amethyst admitted.

"I won't make fun of you."

"How do I know that?" Amethyst high guard kicked in some more.

"I promise you that I won't."

Amethyst wanted to believe with all her heart. But knowing what things were like back in America, she brought that past life back to reality.

"I don't believe you."

Taehyun was shocked at the response. "Why not?"

"How do I know you're not like everyone else in my life?" Amethyst's anger kicked back in. "How do I know if you're not just saying what I want to hear?"

"I promise that I'm being honest with you." Taehyun tried to stay calm.

"That's what everyone says." Amethyst started to tear up. "They all say that. And then the next time I need them they just brush me off like they don't know me."

"I would never do that to you." Taehyun tried to help Amethyst calm down, he doesn't want to lose her again. "I promise, from the bottom of my heart, that I will be there for you. You have my word."

Amethyst started to cry angry tears. Before she could embarrass herself, she got up from the chair to leave, but Taehyun grabbed her wrist tightly, pulling her back, not letting her go. Amethyst tried to make him let go, but he only gripped her wrist tighter.

"I'm not letting you go until you talk about this." Taehyun said for the second time. "I said you have my word, you can tell me any-"

"I don't want your word." Amethyst yelled, cutting him off.

Taehyun stood wide eyed, looking at Amethyst's face that has steaks left on her cheeks from her tears.

"I don't want it. I can't bring myself to trust you." Amethyst officially brought her past back to the present. "It's harder than it looks to break these walls surrounding me."

Amethyst pulled her arm out of Taehyun's grip forcefully, finally breaking free. Tears continue to stream down her face as she runs out of the Starbucks to go home.

Taehyun was left starting there, looking at the door the girl left when she ran away. Admittedly, he was strong during this conversation until Amethyst yelled 'I don't want your word,' which it feels like his heart broke into a million pieces. It would have probably hurt a lot less if he didn't have a crush on the girl. Just minutes ago, he lost the Amethyst he knew again.

But it doesn't end here. He's worried about Amethyst. She's hurting and she needs someone. He's not giving up on her, not now, not ever. If it takes forever to prove that he'll be there for her, then so be it. He won't let her go that easily. He'll Amethyst the weekend to calm down. But when Monday comes around, he's going to try to help her again.

I'll break down your walls, Ame, you just wait. I'll show you that I'm not like everyone else you might be thinking of.
