Description Amethyst has a dream where she wants to become a famous singer. She doesn't want to do it to become famous, but rather because she loved it and she wants to sing for the rest of her life.  This is a passion of hers since she was little. She started singing when she was eight years old. She practiced everyday for hours. She even got voice lessons, along with piano lessons when she was nine. She joined the school's choir in sixth grade, and even joined the school's band as a flute player, and was in both until she graduated high school. She enjoys many different genres of music, especially songs that are in different languages. Most of the time, she sings songs in different languages than in English.

For while, Amethyst thought about how she's going to start her singing career. She didn't want to be a singing in America though. She grew interest to become a singing in South Korea. But that doesn't mean she wants to become a K-pop idol or anything. She just really loves Korea with all her heart and wants to move there permanently. She loves the culture, and has been learning the language on her own  since her junior year of high school. She would love to become a singer in the place she loves more than anything.

But due to learning the language so late in her life, she decided to go ahead and go to a two year university to get to continue to study the language a little more, and also take some art related classes, including choir and band. She will then find a place in Korea to stay and, hopefully, transfer to Seoul National University to further her studies in art and then try to go to places to become a singer.

She always had this dream since she was eight years old. Now, Amethyst is a twenty year old who is finished with her studies in the two year university and is ready to transfer to SNU, which she recently got accepted into. She found a place to live in Seoul for the time being so she can be a bus stop and few miles of walking distance away from SNU. She filled out all the necessary things she needs in order to live in Korea and all the necessary things she needs for SNU. She ordered a one way ticket to Seoul and is packing enough things to at least last her for a few weeks until she buys various supplies for her new home.

Her flight is in a few days, and she took the time for the next couple days to say goodbye to her family and friends, and promised to visit them at least once every year. These next few days are painful for her, but at the same time, she's excited to be living her long dream. It's so close to becoming a reality, and as the day of her flight comes closer, her smile grew wider.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, thirteen hours later, Amethyst finally arrived in Seoul, South Korea. When she exited the airport, her mouth made the widest smile ever. She's completely amazed by what she was seeing. The real thing is much more beautiful than the pictures she sees online.
After being amazed for a good five minutes, she called a taxi over and told them her now new address. While sitting at the backseat, she thought of many things to do once she is settled at her new home. It was a good thing that it was daylight outside, and she slept on the plane ride. Her flight left at night, and when she arrived it was late-morning, almost noon. The day barely started, and Amethyst is more excited than ever.
When arrived, she thanked the taxi and gathered her things. There she is, standing in front of her new home. It was a small home, but it will do for now while she studies in school. It's smaller than an average house, and was only one floor. It was white on the outside, with a grey roof. The front door was white, with two little windows, one on each side of the door, which Amethyst assumed one window was in the kitchen and the other window was in the living room. She went to the front door, took the key and opened it, revealing the inside of the house. It was empty for the most part, but she was surprised to find a lamp and small chair inside.
She walked inside, her smile growing wide. She took her shoes off at the door, walking further into the living room, leaving her stuff against the wall and took the tour of her new home. There was the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, and two other rooms, one of them is going to be her bed room and the other one will most likely her 'music space' for anything music related, singing, piano, flute, etc. Just the perfect amount of space she needs, she's already thinking about staying here after her studies at SNU. Unless she gets a boyfriend and they plan on getting married, but Amethyst doesn't see that happening anytime soon. She rather focus on school and her future career for now.
Amethyst as been focusing too much on thinking about being in Korea and looking at her new house that she forgot that she didn't really eat anything for nearly fourteen hours. She thinks it's a good idea to look around nearby places, and to start picking her favorite quiet place, like a coffee shop. Deciding to put her things away later, she grabbed her backpack, put her shoes back on and went out the door.
She walked a few miles before she got into downtown Seoul. It was pretty, but she can handle it for the most part. She looked around at a bunch of stores and restaurants to visit later. She has all week before school starts to visit these places. When she was looking around, her eyes were fixed on a Starbucks. She felt super excited, and since she hadn't had a Starbucks since a few day before she left, so she decided to go in. It had a nice atmosphere and it was quiet enough for her to spend everyday after school here. Since she studied Korean for four years, she ordered her drink with no problem. When it was done and handed to her, she was about to leave to walk around some more, but she crash into someone and they fell down.
"Ah! Mianhaeyo!" Amethyst said in shock and offered a hand to help them up, noticing the person she ran into was a guy, with soft looking brown hair and dark brown eyes. She thought he was one of the most beautiful, yes, beautiful, guys she ran into.
"Ah, ani-" they guy was about to apologize himself as he took Amethyst's hand and got up, but when he saw her, he was surprised. "Oh my, I'm sorry. But I also didn't know you were-"
"A foreigner?" Amethyst finished the sentence, also surprised by this guy's English. It was nearly perfect. "I just moved here today. I arrived a couple hours ago."
This guy had the biggest smile on his face, and while it was nice, it was freaking Amethyst out a little. Suddenly, he asked if she had a pen and paper. Amethyst took off her backpack, pulled out out a pen and a little notebook and handed it to him. He wrote something down and handed them back to her.
"Call me sometime. I would love to show you around here."
Amethyst nodded and bowed. The guy bowed in returned and said bye. Amethyst walked outside of Starbucks and looked at the written note. The guy's name is Taehyun, and he wrote his number down. Speaking of numbers, Amethyst needed to get a Korea-working phone. She went looking for a phone store and when she found one, she went inside, did all the steps and got a black iPhone 4S, and while she was at it, she got a light blue cover to put on it. When she left the store, she put Taehyun's number in her contacts right away.
She smiled, thinking that she possibly already made a friend and she just got in the country. Amethyst took a sip of her Starbucks coffee and continued to walk around like she originally did until a little past two o'clock and decided to get a late lunch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For the rest of the week, Amethyst looked around Seoul and visited all the places she wanted to visit. She already has a few favorites in a one week's time. Strangely, she hasn't seen Taehyun since the day she first met him. But it was okay, she wanted to find things on her own first so she can know where to go and how to get where.

Sometime during that week, she bought more furniture and some food. There's now a small couch in the living room, a fridge in the kitchen, and a bed in her room. She also bought some food, most of the things she bought is her already favorites that she tried in America, like instant noodles and samgyeopsal, plus a few snacks like pepero. She promised herself to try new things while she gets used to living in a completely new country.

It's now Sunday, a day before school starts. Amethyst couldn't contain her excitement to finally be in Seoul National University as a third year student. She was ready to make new friends, to be in a new class setting, and so much more. Her schedule, not in order, is design, photography, intermediate Korean, computer science, and psychology. It may not look like very much, but it's more complicated that what Amethyst thought it would be. But she's okay with it, because she is living her dream of being in Korea, going to SNU. Her dream will be complete if she becomes a singer, but she won't worry about it for now.

That night, she went to sleep happily, looking forward to her first day of school in a new school in a different country.
