Description "If it wasn't for me, you would be dead and you would be unconscious." Kabocha cried to ther friends when she was telling them what happened. "I mean what I did was a completely accident, but I guess I'm glad it happened. I didn't want to hurt Andrew, but maybe it was for the better."

"Kabocha, you have to accept that for right now, Andrew is a different person. He doesn't care about you at the moment." Terensu said.

"Don't say that! I know he still does!"

"I'm saying that right now he doesn't..."

"Stop saying that!" Kabocha wailed. "Andrew still cares, he's just going through a rough spot right now. I know he still cares about me."

Kabocha cried harder, looking down, holding onto her hurting heart. Terensu knelt next to her, putting his hands on her shoulders.

"Stay away from him until he's okay, okay? We don't want you to get hurt."

"No!" Kabocha yelled, pushing her brother off, got up and ran away.

Kabocha cried her heart out at the same spot in the woods where she would go. She sat at the edge of the cliff, holding her knees to her chest, her head down. The negativity is eating her alive, thinking about falling off the cliff to electrocute and/or drown herself. But she wants to find the reason, besides Andrew, why she's very down on herself. She got up and turned to leave, but she was scared that Andrew was there.

"Why won't you do what I said?" Andrew asked.

"Are you going to hurt me?" Kabocha said in a quiet, sorrowful tone.

"I don't know, did you end it with your worthless and rude boyfriend?"

Kabocha gasped at how harsh Andrew was being when he spoke of Aoi. She shook her head truthfully, not speaking a word. She grew very scared of her friend, standing back and try to prepare herself.

"Why won't you do what I say? Do you have something against me?"

Kabocha stood in silence and fear. Andrew, who looked angry, went up to Kabocha and lifted her head up. The way his eyes looked when Kabocha looked at him scares her, but she noticed another thing. Those eyes show that he doesn't give a single care about her. Kabocha teared up again. Andrew asked the question again, demanding an answer. Kabocha's heart went to war with what she's truly feeling about Andrew this time. She wanted to deny the official answer, it was a honest but brutal truth. The tears started to fall from her eyes. Andrew's heart soften, resulting in being normal for a few moments, but he remained silent. Kabocha told another story about how their friendship used to be.

October 2010, early junior year

Kabocha was at her usual spot where she hung out and waited for Andrew to come by. She was a little tired, so she laid down on the grass. Andrew came a few minutes later, seeing Kabocha lying on the ground. He didn't mind, and he came by and laid down next to her.

"You're always late." Kabocha joked.

"Maybe you just get here too fast." Andrew joked also.

"Excuses, excuses." Kabocha laughed. "How are you?"

They had a basic conversation for a while. They don't have any classes together yet again this year, so before and after school is the only time they can talk.

"Why do you want to help me?" Kabocha asked out of no where. "Why do you care?"

"Well," Andrew started off. "First, I don't want you to end up getting hurt or take your life. Plus, you have no one but your brother. And, well, you're my friend. So of course I really care about you."

"But what made you want to talk to me?"

"You looked upset and I wanted to help. I care more than you think."

"You're different from other intelligent people, Andrew. Your personality is different."

"I get that all the time." Andrew said. "But I mean what I said. I care and love to help others."

"Even me?" Kabocha continues to doubt.

"Of course. I wouldn't be here if I didn't care about you. It would be very wrong if I didn't care about my friends."

Kabocha believed him, and said thank you.

"Do you mind if I take a nap for a few minutes?" she asked.

"Not at all."

"Andrew..." Kabocha felt a little worried. "Can you stay here while I nap?"

"Of course." Andrew said. "I wouldn't just leave you here like that."

Kabocha smiled then turned to her side, facing Andrew and close her eyes. Without knowing, she moved closer to Andrew, her head now rests upon his shoulder. She apologized for it minutes later when she realized it after her nap.

Andrew remembered exactly what Kabocha talked about, though she left out a part that Andrew hoped she never noticed. When Kabocha leaned on him on accident, he felt shocked and he blushed. He didn't mind it, but he felt different. He had no reason to hide it from himself, he knew that he fell in love. Kabocha seemed so comfortable, that he had to wrap his arms around her. And at some point, he fell asleep too.

Thinking about it, Andrew became hurt. He looked at Kabocha, still holding her head up. Kabocha still had tears slowly running down her cheeks. She sighed, then spoke something that Andrew will never forget.

"Andrew, I love you and you're a good friend...but you're no longer the friend I used to know."

Andrew felt like his heart got shot. He wiped only one side of Kabocha's cheeks, then let go to gently grab her hand. Andrew didn't know what to do or say about a hurting friend after all the damage he had cause so far. He sighed and looked down.

"Je suis désolé...."

"Andrew, I-"

"Je t'aime..."

"Andrew..." Kabocha didn't understand a thing.

Andrew backed away a bit, still holding Kabocha's hand. Eventually, he let her go and left the area. Kabocha watched Andrew leave her behind, wiping her eyes from the few tears she cried.

"You're really not the same...but I still care for you..." Kabocha said to herself. "You still mean something to me..."
