Countdown: Day 3Just like that, it was day three. Only two more days before Kabocha's death. Instead of going through worry for part of the day, Kabocha asked Aoi if they could go to Skínandi for a while. Aoi accepted and they went to Skínandi into 'their' home. Kabocha still got the overwhelming and unworthy feelings from how beautiful and how huge this place is, but she accepted it more than the first time. Aoi got used to being back in Skínandi after taking that first step of the healing process. Though, he still a little sensitive to what happened just a few feet from where they are eleven years ago.
Kabocha is still being bothered by her thoughts, which means that the bad things didn't go away over night once again. But she is glad that is in a different world to get away for a while before another disaster later.
Kabocha sat on the huge staircase on the left side of the building, while Aoi is looking out the huge window is in the center of the building. Then at the front door, the re was a knock that startled the both of them.
"Koma á í." Aoi said, hoping it's not important. Kabocha is already confused about what he just said, but she will guess it is along the lines of 'come in.'
The door opened and Aoi's old friend Apsen came in. Apsen got excited and ran inside toward Aoi.
"Aoikaisai!"
"Aoi." Aoi corrected his friend.
"Right, I forgot you changed your name. Anyway, I knew you were here! That makes me so happy!" Apsen said.
"Does everyone here speak both Icelandic and English?" Kabocha asked while coming down the stairs.
"Princess Kabocha!" Apsen became more excited since Kabocha was here.
"A...Apsen..." Kabocha tried to remember his name, but also feels a bit embarrassed about being called Princess.
"Kabocha, I'm so glad you're here. Last time, you didn't speak at all."
"Your compliments were too kind..." Kabocha only said part of why she was quiet last time. "I wish I could say thank you then..."
"No, don't thank me! I was only speaking the truth!" Apsen said.
"Okay, Apsen, she's the Princess but she is my Princess." Aoi felt a little uneasy with the amount of compliments his friend is giving to Kabocha. "Anyway, do you need something?"
"Nope. I just knew that you were here. I never see you anymore, so...I miss you...s-seeing you..." Apsen felt a bit embarrassed to admit how much he missed Aoi since they used to hang out everyday in the past.
"Apsen," Aoi went up to him and grabbed Apsen's shoulders. "I miss you too."
The two hugged each other. Kabocha can see the bond and love between the two friends. She asked if this is normal in this world to show love and care to one another. Aoi nodded, saying everyone was taught to love one another, and there was nothing wrong to show it, like hugging.
"Aoi, you have to meet my new friends. They really want to meet you! I'm sure they'll be your friend in an instant! Well, one keeps to himself a lot, but I'm sure he'll open up to you, Prince Aoi." Apsen shared some excitement.
"Not right now, Apsen, because Kabocha is-"
Aoi got interrupted by Kabocha's random cry, like she has been doing everyday so far.
"Kabocha is depressed for an unknown reason. I don't think she's truly depressed. I think a friend of hers, who is evil for some reason, is controlling her to be depressed."
"Oh my gosh, that's terrible. Can I do something?" Apsen said.
"I rather you not. It seems that he is threatening her friends also. It's best that you don't get involved."
"But...I want to fight with my best friend! I want to show off what I have so I can get your approval, great one!" Apsen became desparate.
"First, God is the great one. Don't compare me to Him, please. Second, you already have my approval and I'm very proud of you, Apsen. Third, I really don't want to get you involved. I promise that we're going to need you one day. And maybe your friends if their magic is developed enough. I promise, Apsen." Aoi said, smiling at the end.
Kabocha is still crying while the guys are having their conversation. Apsen hugged Kabocha in hopes that it will make her feel at least a bit calmer. Kabocha stopped wailing, but is still crying, even that is a bit calmer.
"The key to calm Kabocha down, even just a little, is to hug her or show at least some type of affection." Apsen said. "I mean, I only wanted to hug her, but it might cancel out what her 'controlled' thoughts are doing to her. It seems that whoever is controlling her is weak against positive emotions, such as love and happiness."
"You're so smart, my friend." Aoi said. "I think we should go now. He might be waiting for her. We may come again soon if we want more answers. I'm proud of you for adding some of your input today."
It was only a few seconds before the two friends came back to earth. Kabocha seemed a little more calmer now. Kabocha walked off to find Andrew already so she can say what she has been saying to him. Andrew is actually already outside, watching her and Aoi. He read her mind, and figured out the answer the same question was going to ask, and decided it was not worth it. Kabocha didn't know that Andrew will not appear for this day. Her and Aoi looked around for at least an hour before Kabocha gave up.
"He's not coming. He probably finally understands that it will be the same answer every time we meet."
"I wouldn't give up on him just yet. Not until the last day has past." Aoi suggested.
The two went back home for the rest of the day. Andrew sighed, feeling a bit mad at himself for not going there when he saw them. He went away for the day as well, preparing something worse for Kabocha for the second to last day.
