Description Spongebob took a harsh landing into the ground a short distance away from his pineapple home-- flinging dirt and blades of grass into the air and onto himself. The demon shook his head; startled by the impact but obviously annoyed. "YOU MUST LEARN TO LAND MORE GRACEFULLY! MY HORNS CAME NEAR TO PIERCING YOUR SKULL, YOU DAFT CODGER!" Lucius growled out from behind clenched teeth as he began rubbing his forehead. Spongebob let out a short chuckle while wiping his asymmetrically constructed trousers free from debris before peering up at his chrome front door hatch. It looked the same as he remembered-- as if he never even left. "I'll be careful next time, Savage... well, if there would even be one... Hmm..." The man let out a thoughtful hum from his nostrils, wondering if this was a good idea from the recesses of his consciousness. He shook his head after a few moments. Closure was the only way to get things started back to normalcy after all, and so no other ideas should even be considered. Looking back at his home, he slowly stepping up to the cobbled pathway. The sponge glanced at his neighbor, Squidward's house, not able to tell if him or his family were home. Come to think of it, he wasn't sure if they knew he was gone for so long; if at all.

Just as the towering Sponge placed his yellow hand on the hatch, a pit began to ache in his stomach. It was as though he could sense there was something wrong, but what, he didn't have a clue. The man shivered-- standing frozen on the welcome mat, as he thoughtlessly stared on at the ground. Lucius twitched his tail; having had the same feeling before he reached the home. "YOU FEEL SOMETHING ISN'T QUITE RIGHT AS WELL...?" He asked, and Spongebob nodded, clutching the cold steel with his large fingers. "STAY ALERT..." The demon heeded, as his host slowly opened the door; pressing inwards until suddenly, it swung open without his control. Spongebob gasped, as a tiny figure smacked into his thick chest and collapsed to the gritty carpet.

The men, alarmed, stepped back as if ready for a fight with whoever the unidentified being was. That was, until, Spongebob let out a small surprised inhale to see his little daughter, Lola begin to pick herself up frantically with tears stained on her face. When she got a good look at the silhouette that hung in the doorway, she practically turned to stone in equal shock. They stared into each others eyes for what felt like hours in a matter of seconds, before Lola took no more hesitation to quickly jump him for a hug. "D-Daddy!!" The little girl blubbered out, burying her face into his shoulder and squeezing her arms around him like she was afraid to let go. Spongebob couldn't help the tears the bubbled up in the rims of his eyes as a little relieved smile crossed his lips. Even Lucius wasn't able to stop himself from smirking a little; able to see the power a child's unconditional love had on her parent. However, his smile soon faded as he thought of Laurel, and how the joy she held in her womb still laid connected to his wife even after death. The sun may have kissed his daughter's face after the blade of their pitchforks punctured a sky light through the belly of her mother, but it couldn't warm her cold heart back to life. Lucius turned from the sight of them. Not in disgust, but in grief. He would never be able to experience such love from his own spawn. Hell, he'd never feel love from anyone again. That was something he was sure of in that spance.

Before Spongebob was able to lift his arms and return his daughter's embrace, she choked on a breath and stepped back. Her expression dropped instantly to panic-- spraying out sentences and words at her Father in a disorganized manner. Spongebob blinked in confusion, until the words 'Mom' and 'hurry' fell from her garbled paragraph as she pointed to the stairs. The pit in his stomach grew wider and his eyes now displayed concern as he turned them to the stairs.

Her Father flying past her into the house, Lola stayed behind in order to collect herself. After the break between her relief to see Spongebob alive and unharmed plus her quick descend from the stairs prior, she had to catch up to him. The little girl sprinted back as fast as her wobbling feet could carry her.

The beefy Sponge burst through the door to his bedroom, closely searching for signs of Laura's presence, but was only left with his teenage son, Thomas, slamming his shoulder into the bathroom hatch. Tom peered up at the man in the room, gazing with a sort of confused comfort as he stopped in his tracks. Spongebob hastily brought himself in the direction of Tom and bent down to his level. Before speaking with his son, he stared on at Tom's shivering shoulder. He must have been slamming himself into the door for a long time. "Tom, what happened? What happened to your Mother?" He asked him, glaring anxious blue eyes into his green irises. "...Dad...?" Tom croaked lowly. Finally seeing his father after so long caused an astonished wave to cloud over his thoughts. The man shook his head, speaking more firmly, "Your mother! What's happened to Laura?!" Tom flinched, with eyes unblinking, trailing them to the door he had just been wailing on. "S-She's stuck... I-In there!" He pointed to the bathroom, just as a puddle began to form-- crawling underneath the door and swiftly ran across the sandy carpet only to end by soaking Tom's pant leg. Spongebob darted his head to the door with horror, with a ring of uncomfort and distress building in his ears. He pushed himself up and ran to the hatch. The towering Sponge pressed his huge palms against the cold hatch, trying the valve but it wouldnt turn. He grasped it with both hands and turned with all his might-- letting out a tough grunt in his struggle. Instead of opening, his strength merely tore it off, further trapping her within. Losing his voice to an unexpected stumble, he threw the valve to the ground, grabbing his head. "LAURA!!" He found himself screaming.

Lucius surveyed the scene before him with near equal intent to free her, but as he thought to himself in his silence, he realized he was getting wrapped up in a family of who he wanted to destroy from the beginning. They certainly didn't care about him, but... oddly he found he was scared for Laura's fate in the moment. The fate of a woman he tortured in the Navy. The one he influenced another man to attempt and kill. Laura...The one he forced to pleasure him using the body of her own husband. With these recollections, he felt sick. He glanced down at his hands of which he could still picture gripping her hips. There he went, thinking of that night again. How did it keep sneaking into his conscious thoughts instead of becoming buried in his memories?

The Devil furrowed his brow at his filthy claws, dropping his tail. His life flashed in pieces across his white eyes, only to be interrupted by his host jerking them to the back of the room. Witnessing the man push his son aside, Lucius braced himself, as the man hurled his body into the bathroom door. The metal twisted and crashed into the adjacent sink and mirror, busting a pipe in the process. A geyser of water shot up and quickly sprayed over the mangled door and the man on the ground, who tried to regain his footing.

The room was steaming, assumingly from the shower on the other side. He picked his leg up, slipping on the thoroughly swamped floor before catching himself and lunging towards the bathtub to turn off the water. The humidity made him cough-- it was becoming progressively difficult to breathe. Tom stayed put outside of the room, with his expression still plastered with awe. Lola clawed her way up the steps out of breath, panting while swaying her head to the side to look for her father. She could see the heated precipitation from the bathroom get sucked out swiftly by the cooler waters of her parent's bedroom, and instantly realized that he got in. The little Sponge pressed her feet to the top step and urged herself into the bathroom. What she was met with, however, was the unmoving back of her father, peering motionless into the tub. Lola shivered at what she hoped wouldn't be true, as she stepped closer.

"Ah..." Spongebob choked in disbelief, seeing Laura, his one and only-- his everything, floating lifeless in the waters of the tub. His eyes trembled, with pupils contracting to the size of needle-points and ducts flowing ceaseless tears down his cheeks. He reached in, with shuddering slow hands, lightly gripping her thin waist to pull towards him. His hand flew to cover his mouth as he had seen and felt just how thin she was. His voice barely muffled from behind his hand as he sobbed for her. Her ribs were visible, cheeks sunk in, and her limbs slender and bony. Her skin was a pastey pink, with barely any color left in her; save for the dark rings under her sunken eyes. "Oh Gods..." Spongebob shakenly muttered, before gripping to her-- clutching her against his chest, and screamed at the top of his lungs in pain and grief. His eyes now fully rinsing him in salty tears that cascaded below onto the top of his wife's drooping plumes.

Lola jolted back after witnessing her father cry out for her mother. She was just with her a short time ago, but now it feels like she should have stayed with her. Her mind rushed with horror as she too began to cry; pulling on her hair while shaking her head. "No, Mom...!! MAMA!!!" She gasped and wailed. She dropped to the drenched ground, splashing the now luke-warm waters onto her shiny black boots and brown skirt. The girl held her hands to her eyes as her and her father's screaming mixed in the bathroom and ricocheted off the walls, catching in the ears of Tom who winced out of his shock. The boy dared not to look in the room-- not because he knew his mother was most likely naked, but the thought of seeing her dead body caused his entire core to dip into a silent depression. He knew if he looked, he would only add to the screams of his family, and so he stayed put-- clawing at his head on the floor of his parent's bedroom.

The demon closed his eyes; sitting his heavy physique on the squishy ground of the cranium. Signals his host's brain sent to him were just as painful as he remembered when he lost the one he loved. The only difference being that he felt no rage from Spongebob, but intense emotion alone. His black heart throbbed in his own distraught feelings. Lucius gripped his chest with unsheathed claws, intentionally raking them across his pectorals causing them to ooze a black substance that created a pool beneath him. He began to stare at his self-thought hideous reflection-- silently pondering.

Spongebob lifted his Wife's cold face up to his, and he kissed her eyelid lovingly; letting his tears drip onto her cheek. "Laura--" He hiccuped into another sob and wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, but it couldn't stop them from falling. He gripped his hand to his cheek as he gazed down at the deathly woman. "No... No, No... I can't let you do this! You can't leave me!!" He yelped in a cry, gently placing her on the floor. Laura's limp hair fanned out below her heavy head, and Lola peeked a mournful green eye at her parents; watching as Spongebob dipped his face onto her lips while holding her nose shut. He breathed into her; having hope she would come back. After no reaction, he did it again, then again, and once more before clasping his hands over her fragile ribs between her breasts. Though he was afraid his strength would break her further, he had to try in order to save her, and so he pushed down against her heart.

The Devil stared back out at his host's actions and shook his head. If only it were so easy to bring the dead back. "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D GIVE TO SEE WHAT YOU'RE DOING ACTUALLY PAY OFF IN THE END... BUT I'M AFRAID IT IS TOO LATE... YOU'RE DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING..." But the man took no heed; biting his lip in concentration. "I would give the world to Neptune in exchange for my wife! I don't care! I will do whatever it takes to bring her back, even if it takes the rest of my life to do so!" Lucius scoffed, chuckling to himself, "NOT A VERY LOGICAL THING TO DO IF YOU ASK ME--" Spongebob interjected with a solemn cry, "WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW?!" His voice shook as he spoke; his tears flowing hard again. Every breath stung, and the rivers of his depression were blinding. Lucius stifled his words-- glancing back at the pool of black, oily blood caking his taloned feet. A pleasant hallucination whispered in his ear in a sweet resonance, and her image flashed over the mirroring puddle behind his own reflection. "I know more than I can tell..." Lucius admitted, breaking his silence.

"Mnn..."

Suddenly, Spongebob's attention jolted back to the woman beneath him. His eyes widened, as he witnessed a miracle. The demon sat up; staring out in bewilderment as he clutched the fleshy walls. Lola ran out of the room for a reason unknown to Spongebob for the moment, but as of now it didn't matter. Laura began to writhe on the flooded bathroom floor; shivering from the cold. The sound that escaped her throat, however, made his heart sink. She may be alive, but she didn't sound as though she had enough left in her to continue fighting for long. There was no doubt she needed a hospital, and fast.

Spongebob stood, cradling his wife in his muscular arms. He had to keep her close to warm her. Before he could leave, his daughter ran back in-- eyes still red from crying as she held out a blanket for her Mother. "G-Go Daddy! Save Mama!" She sniffled, and he pet her cheek; rubbing away a few tears as he smiled with assurance.

Lucius lowered his eyelids. He couldn't believe it. How could she have lived when Laurel couldn't... This woman was starving, and sickened, but still lived. Why...? His amazement from this event shifted quickly to jealousy-- despite contradicting his sentiment that he would be glad if she lived. He had to remember that she didn't belong to him. He isn't her husband, so why should he actually have to care? Instead of giving them his attention, he sat back and splashed in his own bloody pool like a child. Even though he could hear his host call for 'Savage', he became increasingly reluctant to offer his assistance anymore. What good would it do him anyway, he thought. A chuffle reverberated in the demon's throat after hearing Spongebob speak, "Please, help us! I can't make it there in time!" He cried; running through the neighborhood in the night. "YOU SEEM TO BE DOING WELL ON YOUR OWN... TAKE CARE OF IT YOUR DAMN SELF... I'M BUSY..." Lucius mumbled, having Spongebob clench his teeth in an unconvinced annoyance. "If you don't help her, she'll DIE!! I KNOW you don't want that to happen!! There's no need to be afraid that anyone will know what I've come to figure out about you anymore! You CAN save her! PLEASE!!!" The Devil chuffed at that assertion; lifting his head at attention. "YOU THINK YOU HAVE ME ALL FIGURED OUT, DO YOU? WELL, IF THAT'S THE CASE THEN BY ALL MEANS... TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK I'M 'AFRAID' FOR ANYONE TO KNOW, SINCE YOU THINK YOU'RE SO INTELLIGENT..." Spongebob slowed his steps in the empty street-- looking into the clear sky like a mirror.

"From what I can tell, you never wanted to be a bad person..." The man sobbed; bringing Laura closer into his chest.

The devil mulled his lips like he was about to cry. Simultaneously, he was brought back to his childhood. He indeed harbored feelings for the villagers of Harkward once, and admired them. How they seemed to be so free and loving to one another in something called "families". How terribly he wished for that. To be able to call his father 'Dad' and have his arms around him if he were in distress. But, that was just a pleasant dream, while the truth was a living Hell. Lucius winced at the memories of being beaten by his father day after day without remorse, and moreover, for no reason at all. He reached his fingers to his glowing white eyes; squinting into the distance at the vision of when they were gouged and eaten by the Great Devil as a punishment. He dropped his weighty hand to the flesh he sat upon, as he granted his wings to his clearly desperate host.

Spongebob took off like a bullet towards the nearest Hospital, while inside his own head sat a man staring angrily at his own visage before the blood absorbed into his body through his talons-- leaving nothing behind. If only being able to disappear was as simple as that.

A doctor from within the Bikini Bottom hospital sat at the front desk and sipped his latte. The clacking of a computer was the only sound distiguishable from within the quiet Lobby. A blue fish peered up from his magazine when a new sound broke through the mostly silent space. "Is there an airport around here?" He asked the man at the front desk, to which he shook his head. "Why do you ask?" "It sounds like a jet is flying really fast kinda close outs--"

CRASH!!

The doctor and Lobby guest practically jump out of their seated positions as a man appeared before them in a plume of dust-- carrying a woman draped in a blanket after having jettisoned through the ceiling like a meteorite. "DOCTOR!! I NEED A DOCTOR!!" He shouted; glaring to the man at the desk with fresh tears cascading rivers down his cheeks. "Please save her...!" The woman in his arms twitched one more time before letting out a tiny breath, and falling silent.
