I been using Gimp2 for mixing textures and images. But, I never tried PS before. I wonder if its better at this ? Im guessing the layer options work the same way ?

I couldn't possibly tell you - never been using Gimp. Started out with Photoshop and this is practically the only editing software I have ever used.

Can't image it would be all too different from gimp, though. I don't really use any fancy techniques, just play around with layer capacity and the eraser tool a lot.
