He was of the most influential musicians of my youth. I've been listening to Stone Temple Pilots for over 12 years (that's half my life) and was lucky enough to see Scott live in concert once.
And to whoever designed the official memorial graphics, they are beautiful.
Even though you've managed to sneak one of my textures in there.
Which gave me the creeps.
Rest in Piece, Scott. And rock on.

It's a damn shame, and more sadly, he lived about twice as long as many people believed that he would.

I just wish he'd proven everyone wrong and lived a long life and died of old age like a regular grandpa at 80-something.

I hear ya. I plan on living to be a billion. I'm not that great at math, but I like those odds.

"I know it eats you up inside"
Unknown if it was bought or stolen...the texture.
But still, beautiful how a texture of you found it's way to the scott page. A beautiful fan/artist moment.
That STP core album is a classic.

I know, I come back to that album time and time again.
Well, no matter if they bought it or not - it would not have felt right to be linked to underneath a dead man's memorial picture. So. I'm kinda glad they just grabbed it and went along with it.
But I'm still sad about Scott. No matter what it was that he died from. 48 is no age.

I can understand the link thing.
The cd, core, has also been a part of my life and will be 'till the day i die.
And you know what they say about being sad.
Just take time with a wounded handΒ 'Cause it likes to heal...

Bennington was not a suitable replacement for him. I'm glad he left the band. Here's hoping STP picks up someone proper this time.

I've only been listening to STP with Scott.
Never even dared to listen to Chester's interpetation.
I was also a big Linkin Park Fan back in my teenage years, but those two bands eventually merging together was a total brainfuck...
Thank god the first couple of albums will always be great music to come back to.

Chester STP isn't necessarily BAD... It's just different. Stylistically it's the same but his voice just calls out CRAWLIIIIING IN MY SKIIIIIN in my head, so it's uncomfortable to listen to.
I'm sure if Linkin Park wasn't so familliar I would have much less of a problem with it.
That said, Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart is my favorite track.
Also, if you like STP, you should check out Middle Class Rut! Not a well known group but they're really talented!

I've seen Middle Class Rut live once at a festival liked them and I love "new low" but for some reason I haven't really gave the rest of their music a listen yet. So its noted!
