AHHHH FINALLY GOT AROUND TO UPLOADING THIS FANTASTIC COLLAB WITH !!! I did the background and he drew the felvargs x3 He already uploaded it for rewards and stuff BUT I wanted to share it here, too, as well as talk about the characters here a little bit since they have a wonderful history, both inside their lore and outside as just a regular player within the felvargs group xD

This all started back... uhhh... in August apparently was when I adopted Vermilion ((the felvarg in the middle; the other two belong to MisterMismatched and are Eikthyrnir on the left and Melacard on the right)). I was going through a "felvarg boom" time since I hadn't been active in like 2 years and was obtaining new genos/imports to build my little pack ((...or not-so-little, as it eventually became)). I was at a point where I was like, "Okay, no more new felvargs!" but I'm dumb so I kept browsing the sales journals anyway and somehow stumbled upon a journal selling felvarg imports for offers and one of them was Vermilion. IDK why but I got the saddest, loneliest vibes from him and as if of all the felvargs waiting for a new home in the journal, he was the one who wanted it the most. Like a real, permanent home. I thought about it for a bit... I didn't really want to add to my pack at the moment but there was also something about Vermilion that made me want to reach out to him. SO I was like "OK I'll offer 1200 FC for him" and the person selling willingly accepted that! The person didn't have Vermilion's psd file but they did have his tracker and all his past breedings/records.

Ok, so, when I got this information I was amazed how much of a dramatic life Vermilion must have had before coming to me. He had multiple previous owners ((so his psd file probably got lost somewhere along the way)) and at least three names ((he was named Cedrun when I obtained him)). He was also used in an inbred breeding where half the pups were born deceased. I'm looking over all this stuff and I'm just "holy crap this guy really has been through a lot!" Felvargs is the first ARPG I've been legit active in and so it's the first time where I've been involved with obtaining characters who had some form of an "identity" before obtaining them myself. What I mean is a lot of them really aren't just designs and while genos get to be totally fresh characters, I feel super weird to abandon everything an already-designed and named character had already built. So for me, I wasn't just getting a design, I was getting a character who at the time was called Cedrun. To get to know him a little better, I went through all his logs and found his original stuff, which included a literature piece where he was named Vermilion and was very close with Eik and Melacard. I got a lot of feels from that because dawww he had good friends back then!!! And then he had to go through so much dramatic stuff ahhhhh....

I quickly began making his lore revolve around his multiple past identities and the things he had done that had forced him to keep moving around so much. The inbred breeding became a horrific part of his past that he regrets with the deadborn pups burned into his mind ((though eventually later I managed to obtain one of the surviving inbred pups FROM THAT VERY LITTER! He is now part of my lore and named Miloje fav.me/dcvcmy1 though technically Vermilion hasn't been reunited with him yet in my lore askfjakljslkasg WORKING ON ITTTT)). Vermilion became an outcast/wanderer sort of character after committing a crime ((that was actually an accident)) and afterwards regularly teams up with Kohoutek ((and later befriends Ooyuki because of this connection)) taking up some less than savory jobs that he isn't proud of, but he had lost his original sense of "self" after all he had gone through and was still called "Cedrun" at the time.

After he quickly had some established lore among my characters, I knew I needed to get his psd xD because he would be an active character and would probably level up eventually. Thank you felvargs for having the original designer's name in on their import since it helped me find Vermilion's psd as well as his original owner, MisterMismatched , and we got to chat a bit and I found out more about Vermilion's old friends and eventually it lead to deciding to do a collab with them reuniting!! This gave Vermilion a boost of energy he needed and he was able to regain his original name once again He became a more energetic character after that and managed to carry his head a little higher. He is still a wanderer within my current point in the lore with him but maybe one day there will be a day where he is cleansed from his past sins for good and can really come back to the Mountain Men and further his adventures in the mountains with them! For now, he is continuing his quest to "find himself" and grow into a stronger individual. Much character development in his future to come, that's for sure!

Vermilion has grown to be one of my personal favorite felvargs and I love him so much xD I haven't made any art of him yet but he has been so busy with literature that I really need to do his Lv 2 HU before he has enough exp for Lv 3 LOL. Though I am excited for the next part of literature I need to do that involves him, Kohoutek and Ooyuki x3 A lot of my literature has been pretty light as I try to figure out more of my lore so there will be plot incoming for this trio very soon. AND THEN HOPEFULLY CAN GRAB JASPER FOR SOME RP //SOB// VERMILION HAS SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT WITH HIS OLD FRIENDS!!!

...Okay that was a lot longer to write about than I thought I was going to say xD THANK YOU FOR THE COLLAB This was definitely a special one.

On a more art technical note this has one of my favorite backgrounds I've done so please stare at it. I don't usually paint on such huge canvases so it took me a lot of time. Thank you.
