Description Silly title, huh?

This is a homage to and his fantastic 3d digital paintings   All credit should really go to him, since i could never come up with this 3d cartoon style on my own. If you have a chance, check this guy out, his work is absolutely amazing.

Found one of his process videos and thought i'd try my hand at his style, creating my own alien dude. The rim lighting isn't great, and the skin has no texture to it, but overall i don't think it's that bad for 3 hours work.

And thanks for introducing me to rim lighting! I just wish i had the patience to keep refining and layering my paintings to achieve that depth and texture.

No probs. The more you paint the more confident you'll become and you'll be able to achieve that.

Thanks, i am finding it hard to get the skin texture though. I'm sure there are a million brushes out there, but as you say, the experience is in learning to paint the skin texture yourself. Maybe one day...
