I just remembered Amy was an archaeologist in Sonic Boom??? which made me imagine an AU that's a fusion of the Main Games and Boom universes, where Amy's an archaeologist and Knuckles is a Guardian. Knuckles shows her around his island and amazes Amy by being really chill about just letting her touch thousand year old books and scrolls, because he grew up with them so they're mundane and ordinary to him. In fact, he's really chill around all of his islands' artifacts except the Master Emerald, due to how dangerous it is. (He's infinitely chill and Boom-Knuckles-levels of goofiness unless people purposely mistreat stuff. Then he gets absolutely furious).
