gosh, i finally finish to read the whole comic.
Just one word: AWESOME.
The story is great, the plot twist are epic, Dr. Starflare is a freaking well made character and eve if he's dead right now (i think) he didn't disappear from the comic.
Now i have a question. How long will be this story?

And I have no idea how long the comic will be; I keep coming up with ideas! I do, however, hope to be setting it closer to it's path to completion. Much as I like my ideas, I don't want to overburden the story more than I have to.

unless the story becomes too heavy and boring it's alwais a good idea insert new ideas. But be careful, adding too much things makes the story hard to explain, especially if you want to bring back something already happened.
For example, if you want to extend Starflare's story, make sure to don't contradict what have you already said.

A new threat approaches, unseen and unknown,
because now the shadows will not leave the ponies alone.
The enemies they had faced hence,
such an easy prey has not been seen since.
Starflare was the first of many to appear,
but he was not the only danger to be here.
Soon the evil will rise to fight,
and cover the world in endless night.
It is quite like the kin of the princess of sun,
the hope of the world, loved by everyone,
her own sister turned to shadow and dark,
undone by the twilight and its very spark,
and now they search for her, the foes she faced,
until they are done and her life is erased.
They wish nothing more than the end to bring,
and the dirges of the damned to always sing.
They want only power and death to all,
and to them each the darkness shall call.
They bring about terror, pain, and end,
the flesh to split and the bones to rend.
To call their names is to bring them there,
and as for how much they crush they do not care.
They will stomp the cities to the bare earth itself,
and leave no blessing for anypony else.
They'll take all the glory for a king in the shade,
and burn down the forest and joyful glade.
They'll bring wrath and sin to a world of light,
and try to vanquish it to bring the night.

I've decided to revive memories and read first ~100 pages. Damn great progress, I liked the drawings since the first page, but coloring is now just astounding. And the plot is wonderful, You're rolling it in the right direction.
Also, this mark is Starflare Cutie Mark if I'm correct.
