sadly... im kinda hopeing luna says no. Yes alot of ponies will most likely die. but if they dont want another Discord Reign like it was before the princess rule. The princess of the night...for once has to make the tough choice and sacrafice a chunk of equestria so that there will BE a equestria later...or hope so. plus were dealing with blood thirsty murderers. its one of those... whats stoping him from triggering the bombs afterwards.

...actually i think i got caught up on the ltieral bomb thing because, well, that vision twilight had. thoguht literal bombs and stuff.
...... suddenly this whole setting seems a lot less dark after reading a few fanfics lately...... wlll definitely retire from doing that if i hold sanctity to my sanity. and not something like cupcakes, just ones with dark themes...... even though as a lover of ltierature of either the writ or the picture, moving or otherwse, and tese stories farely well written, i no likey. not my tastes...... so dark it goes way out of the my little ponies unvierse and into another one where the darkness, already present, is amplified.
here there is a considerable more balance between them. it still feels closer to the themes of the show, just that an enemy who is incapable of fucking around has reared its ugly head. and not, oh i'll just kill yo ass after having tea, more like they are militial and organized. so far, so good.
.....i fucking LOVE that scene where twilight finds herself forced to blackmail the doctor...... it just feels like something i could almost see in that show.
not sure why i find myself so critical of most dark works.... i have had some dark ideas myself, though i always balance them before they go so far. one idea i had was that some demonic presnse had possessed pinkie pie and was giving her nightmares of.... welll doing thing you would find in a pinkie is a killer fanfics basically, though never specifically stated. things get worse and worse, he spirits drained more and more, until one night she finds herself standing ominously over a in bed, awake, and slightly alarmed fluttershy. this eventually leads to a break down where the spirit tries to force her to try and kill one of her friends. isntead of breaking, she flings herself off a cliff, itnent of destroying herself before she causes any harm. the act drives the mosnter out, trying to escape, only to get attacked by everyone's favorite pricness of the night. the demon is then nearly beaten to death by rainbow dash and dragged away to tartarus.
however pinkie pie does not go unscathed. the demon's torments, fortunately, were pure fabrications. it tricked her into think she had the capacity to harm others. her mind is mostly whole, helped by the revelation that she would never kill anyone. however the demon had drained much of her life force, and the story would end with her on life support, with good hopes of reviving her yet it being a long road ahead.....

There's a point where one must know to draw the line - a line I admit I may have crossed a few times, but all for the effort of tugging at feels.Β A dark work is all good and dandy, but if all it is is dark, it starts to drive away.Β I've been trying to maintain a balance between light and dark themes, though I admit I'm somewhat evil, so that makes it... difficult. XD

i am a little.... sinister i would rather say, myself. like i just mentioned, in a jumble messed, i had an idea with pinkie pie being possessed by a demon that tried to make her act like a slasher killer, her attempting suicide to make sure she never harmed anyone, and while she was saved and the dmeon defeated, she was left in pretty critical condition....
which soon snowballs into complete mayhem. one of the reasons i have not written fanficition is because i am never satisfied in a single story. had i written that sotry it would ahve become a god damn saga that i would be working on after mlp is over, even if it is seven seasons long. then forcing myself to rewrite thigns as new thigns are shown in the series and comicss.......
either it is that she is cirppled by demonic possession, o have it that the events are totally different and she is disabled by big mac accidentally impregnating her.......... semi good reason why that happened. alcohol can inhibit even the most mild mannered colts, especially when it is unknowingly ingested.

one hand story not bad.... the other hand it relies too heavily on far too violent elements. aside for he violent assaults, which i will not curse you for doing or anything all thigns considered as it is your decision, the use of real world or mundane weapons like bombs do not seem threatening enough considering we have a demi goddess who controls the moon and night. these methods are vulnerable to multiple things in this setting.
think of it, how many ways can luna eliminate this threat? she can force all of the enemies to sleep, hell all of equistria if needed. she can invade dreams and force horrors upon their minds till they tell where they are. and if the bombs are somehow made to exlode if a magic tries to disable and or change them into something else, like cake or something, then there is always the option of changing them back into their base materials, which is not likely to b e prepared for; they cannot be enchanted for all three fronts.
basically this plan as is falls apart as luna has the power to eliminate it with ease. however if there was something different, a different form of therat that while not as destructive is not only dangerous, but unlikely that luna assaulting the enemy forces could stop. hell something that uses something that actually exists in the mythos. like something that would attract dangerous creatures of great power should they be used. otherwise..... bomb just too simple to eliminate for the princess of the night.

The problem there is you assume that Equestria, a country which has already got coal powered trains, hazmat suits, ovens, and party cannons, have not discovered at least the most basic of explosives.Β While I give Equestria probably doesn't have the type of bombs that have red and blue wires, their level of technology would at least allude to having T.N.T down at the very least.Β After all, not everypony can work magic.
Secondly, I am aware of Luna/Celestia's game breaking powers.Β That's why Celestia is in her particular situation - because the bad guys knew she couldn't be beaten if she was fighting without some kind of restraint.Β Powerful as Celestia and Luna are, we've seen first hand they are not unbeatable - proven by the fact they had to utilize the elements of harmony in the first place.
Luna's dream walking abilities haven't gone unnoticed - trust me, I can't say much due to spoilers, but these things will be explained.Β I've done nothing in this story that I haven't considered at least one possible solution to, and the sisters' powers and authorities were considered.
I do not try to make my comic rely on violence - rather, I wanted the comic to tug at peoples' heart strings, with fighting AND other things.Β I have yet more twists and turns in store, and I don't intend for this to end with any dry eyes.

they seem to use the elements cause, well, not likey the killy. also discord would be too dangerous to butcher. who knows what cataclysm would follow if they performed that battle to the climax. and the only other time we have seen them overpowered was when chrysalis gourged on enough love magic to fight of celestia, and it seems celestia was forced to hold back anyway. the only other time was when princess luna, in the comics, was forced to hesitate.
..... that sounds too contrived. so they just know how to counter her dreamwalking powers? she, who has probably done this for centuries and likely could ahve done it while she was trapped as nigthmare moon and thus have a LOT of practice at it? they would need their own dreamwalker for that. one that is somehow able to outsmart or overpower a dreamwalker who is likely more powerful and more well practiced at the art. not to mention having this unknown countermeasure set up for all their agents?
that is a b it of a problem. there is them holding the cards, and them having the advantage because of the author alone. as a guy who is itnerested in storymaking himself, that is a big problem. them pulling a major gambit and succeeding is a challenge. they basically having all the cards, even ones that are not even held in teh deck to begin with, is distracting. bombs are physical threats, can be dealt with; either by turning them into something else or teleporting them away..... or getting dsicord there.
jsut saying, this is a world of sapient equine, dragons, manticores, hydra, and vampiric horned rabbits. why limit yourself to something like bombs, which destroy only for a moment, when there are monsters, which would destroy so long as they lived.
perhaps i will check on this comic again someday, maybe. i am not against it being a tearjerker, but i am somewhat weary it will become simply that someone dies tragically...... sometimes the tragedy is not how they die, but what they must endure as they live.

I've only ever seen one combat spell; I'm sure if the Princesses were strong enough to murder all their foes, they'd be strong enough to neutralize them in more pacifistic manners as well.Β Like I said to another person, this is a show about magical horses, not Dragon Ball Z.
Celestia didn't seem to be holding back to me at all; indeed, she seemed shocked when she realized she was getting overwhelmed.Β Assuming she was holding back when they clearly state she was overpowered is really stretching it, don't you agree? The only time I think Celestia could actually have defeated her enemy without the elements was Luna; that, I believe, she didn't do out of love.Β Even Sombra, I suspect, probably had the power of the Crystal Heart keeping him a threat to Celestia.
It's not that the enemy knows how to counter her dream walking powers - it's hard to explain without spoiling things, but I can say that there are certain things they set in place to make things more difficult.
You seem to dislike that I have a villain who outwitted Celestia exploiting her love for her citizens because they knew they couldn't win in a personal fight.Β Tell me, of what interest is a villain who is easily thwarted?

no that part was well done. taking advantage of her weaknesses. here, however, the threat are these explosives, physical objects rather than a looming threat. things luna can locate and disarm..... not in the traditional sense because, well, if she can turn plastic spiders alive for tmeporarily she can turn a bomb into something harmless. all she needs to do is use her alicorn magic, and she could use it in ways they could not handle. how do oyu prevent someone from detonating a bomb? make them fall asleep.
with discord, i think both luna and celestia could destroy him, but at a massive cost. the area they fought him in briefly, before turning him into stone, was aberrated by the battlea nd quarantined. the damage if they had continued would be massive....... and if she fougth nightmare moon, she obviously has experience with combating enemies who are stronger. if the nightmare force made a unicorn able to match an alicorn, just hink what it could do with ah alicorn. though she likely did not fight the possessed luna in a room full of wdding guests who might get cuahgt up if she broke the beam to avoid it or something...... we might be able to see how that battle pans out come next season though.
the itnerest is of a villain who has to strugle to get what he wants..... its a hard balance in creating a situation where the hero can win yet the villain is not a weakling.... also think there is some missed oppurtunity here. idea of turning poison joke into something crueler is interesting and clever. why couldn't it be that the explosives are actually full of that material? think of it this way, in luna's point of view. the difference between the image of a crater, adn the image of a mass of pony in utter agony as they have are basically gassed by a spirit breaking material. not to mention the fact the substance has mystical properties means luna could not just turn it into something else.
udner these circumstaces, she could not just use her magic agaisnt them. if she tried to tamper with these containers in any way, as well, they could spread a terrible plague upon her people.

.......... shrugs. i kinda got that part, could of sworn it said something about sleeper agents planting bombs or something........ still, if they are all located in canterlot, luna just needs to force everyone to sleep. unocious brainwashed sleeper agents are not exactly a threat.... still a lot more clever and subtle than i first thought. the agents, whilel ilkely not as strong as actual soldiers, are not acting of their own accord and so the real soldiers would hold back against them. basically functioning both as a combat unit and a hostage........ still the fact luna can incompacitate the whole of canterlot, hell equstria, immediately.

First off, CAN Luna force everyone to sleep? I'll assume if she could, she didn't know she could as Nightmare Moon, otherwise stopping the Elements would have been simpler.Β You can give characters powers they don't normally have in fan fiction, but do not criticize a fiction if it DOESN'T give them such powers we've never seen displayed.

it said in canterlot largely........ and i haven't seen every page of the comic so i was uncertain of what he was referencing.
nightmare moon might have been powerful, but she did not have all of luna's capabilities. because she wasn't completely luna, luna's true personality surpressed by the dark magic. she was unable to realize to begin with that the elements of harmony would not be so easily destroyed even though she helped discover them. likely the real luna was makign effort to thwart nigthmre moon.
......shrugs, maybe i am largely basing that in something i saw in the Children of the Night animation. fanmade though it was, she made the entirety of equistria fall into a deep sleep to spirit away suffering orphans.
