~ McCloud Enterprises, Marlborough Hills division ~
“How are you coping with the power?”
“Cope? This is not my first time Kevin.” Zakky spat back in his usual sarcastic tone. “You wanna counsel someone, talk to your precious team, or better yet, Lexi.”
Zakky inwardly sighed as he realized he’d slipped up, as Kevin raised his eyebrows.
“What’s up with Lexi? Are you beginning to care Zakky?” Kevin said with some bemusement. He remembered when Zakky has been wracked with guilt and had followed every order without so much as a snark comment. Clearly the time away from Kevin had given Zakky time to act more like he used to in order to hide his guilt.
“I gave her this damn disease, so I shouldn’t be surprised if she keeps fuckin annoying me.”
“Bring her in, we’ll have a chat. If not with me, maybe she’ll talk to one of the girls” Kevin said, as Zakky got up from the smooth leather chair. “Now remember, you’re the night shift security. I know you can come out during the day, but I’m sure you’ll agree that the less people see you, the easier you can operate.”
“I’m fine with that.” Zakky grunted as he closed the door with a thud, as Kevin told his secretary, Tasha, to hold all his calls for the next few hours.
“Open channel 5-5-5, encryption phi,” Kevin spoke into his earpiece, connecting to a secure line with his contact. “Takumi, what do you have for me?”
“Several reports from Palmont City and some other places of a grey figure helping those in danger. No one’s managed to give a coherent description, but they do seem to indicate that it’s a ranger,” Takumi, the wearer of the Faiz gear, reported in. “Also, a bunch of ranger teams are reporting having their asses handed to them by an unknown attacker with a motorbike. Another set of reports, this time from Trescothic City, of people being helped by a male in a hoodie, and multiple murders occurring around the same time. All at night…”
Kevin understood what Takumi was getting at. All of these attacks were by a stray vampire, whilst two vigilantes were unchecked. And another player was in the game. What was worrying was that both of the vigilantes were wearing grey.
“Scout Trescothic for the Vamp, take him out if you can. If not, I’ll send in Kiva to do it.” Kevin replied after some thought.
“What about the guy assaulting teams? What about the ranger? We both know who it could be.”
“Well, if he’s going through teams, it’ll be a matter of time before he reaches us. We’ll deal with him then. As for the ranger, it can’t be him. His grave was destroyed by the meteorites.”
“That’s not what I meant. The other grave was disturbed hours after the funeral.” Takumi corrected Kevin. “I told you that remember?”
Kevin closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. He was keeping track of so much, only a cyborg or a clone with added hardware could have kept up with so much. Not only this, but Kevin had his own secrets to keep.
“I’ll look into it. The other line’s calling. You have your orders.” Kevin said, cutting off Takumi and engaging the other line. “Channel encryption L-3-0. Arjun?”
“Mr McCloud, I have the information you requested.” the Indian man, Arjun, said on the other side, his deep voice barely above a whisper.
“I have a lock on your signature, I’ll be there shortly.” Kevin said, cutting the link and tapping a button upon his morphed. Within seconds, a golden streak of light had left the Office of Kevin McCloud, and had travelled across the morning skies of a village in India.
An elbow sent Kevin sprawling to the ground, but he quickly turned to face his attacker; the tall Indian man hesitated, before offering a hand up.
“My apologies, Mr McCloud, I did not expect that.” Arjun replied, helping his benefactor to his feet.
“Damn, you really do have the skills I’ve heard about through the media. How are you holding up?”
“Your scientists have helped with the pain a great deal, thank you,” Arjun replied, crossing his arms over his white vest, leaning against the door frame to the room. “Please sit, there is much to tell.”
Arjun took a moment to clear his throat before continuing, “The Syndicate gained their ideas for bio fusion between the mythic and the human from aliens.”
“Makes sense, plenty of aliens have come to earth in the past.” Kevin replied, unfazed by Arjun’s directness.
“Those that have, are mainly reported to be on the Western side of the world Mr McCloud. The only Alien to have been documented in this area was the one responsible for the man known as Krrish.” Another tall Indian man replied to Kevin’s comment.
“Dr Mehra? What are you doing here?” Kevin exclaimed, unsure what the head of Science for McCloud Enterprises India division was doing here.
“Please, Mr McCloud, Dr Mehra is my father, call me Krishna.” the doctor replied, smiling and his green eyes twinkled in the light of the rising sun. “That alien was kind, compassionate. He helped a handicapped man become a genius, a genius who passed on incredible gifts to his son.”
“You’re Krrish?!” Kevin exclaimed, standing up and then sitting down. “I did check your father’s background, but I never twigged. What does this have to do with Arjun’s information?”
“Though this alien gave something for nothing, there is another alien that is intent on taking everything and giving nothing in return. He is responsible not only for the motives of the Syndicate, but also Arjun’s condition. Before, we knew only this.”
“But now,” Arjun spoke up. “Now we know where the Alien accessed the technology from. It is a planet called Eltar.”
Kevin paled at the mention of the name. The two Indians noticed.
“You have heard of it.” Krishna said; it was a statement.
“It’s where the mentor of the first rangers came from. It’s a planet on our side.”
“Perhaps they are tired of being ‘on our side’…” Arjun mused quietly. “All of these rangers, now riders, even heroes. They could see us as a threat.”
“Even then, we’d be a better ally than enemy.” Krishan retorted at Arjun’s logic.
“They know rangers fight against evil, if Eltar was in danger, they know we’d help them!” Kevin said, now very alarmed at how things were all meshing with one another. “I’m going to get to the bottom of this. You have full support of McCloud Enterprises against the Syndicate; just don’t get yourselves killed.”
“The same goes for you, Mr McCloud.” Arjun said, as Kevin teleported in a streak of golden light.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Takumi McCloud is a duplicate of Kevin’s, charged with wearing the Faiz gear and scouting for any threats that may be building up, becoming Kamen Rider Faiz to fight against them . Currently, he is helping to keep track of the current ranger powers that are active, as well as finding out who is responsible for the attacks upon other ranger teams that have often left them devastated. All he knows is that the person responsible has a motorcycle and that he is extremely powerful. Takumi has also been passing on reports to Kevin of a mysterious benefactor helping civilians, but a trail of murders also follows them.
Arjun Singh is the Indian contact of Kevin McCloud, as the person who has become Kamen Rider Singha; originally kidnapped by an evil Syndicate from the Asian criminal Underworld, they wish to merge mythical creatures with humans via genetic splicing to create the strongest super soldiers so far; they planned on making Arjun one of their agents. He resisted with the help of the Singha spirit, breaking free and being found by McCloud Enterprises’ Indian Division. Dr Mehra, the former superhero Krissh, helps stabilize Arjun’s body and aids him in the fight against the Syndicate. Recently, they have both informed Kevin of the Syndicates’ influence by someone from Eltar, to which Kevin decides he must investigate.
