Description
I was a little bummed to find that Black birch had such a strait and even grain whereas the yellow variety has so much character. I think I may have found the right contour with this shape to make the grain appealing. This blank is far from dry so I won't be turning it anytime soon. I have to give the wood some credit for being stable though. I've made about a half dozen blanks this shape and not seen a crack yet. Not much warping either. Just figured I'd show some work in progress.
