A little something because I'm still in a Star Wars mood
so I wanted to Draw something Resitence related, because let's face it, the First Order overflow's the fan art for TFA.And they're arguable more evil than the empire. But i'll save that basket of ramblings for another day.
So the Commando's are basically from various backgrounds. From fresh republic recurits, mercenaries, veterans from the Galactic Civil War, and Scum and bounty hutner's gone good.Subconicously I wanted to create the Resistence equivalent of Stormtroopers, hence the armor, but as I drew I decided to borrow some elements from the rebel soldiers on Endor and some armor we got a glimpse at in Rouge One's numerous Trailers.
I gotta say I like it. hope you do to.

Indeed it would, which is what I think the next film will display, forcing them to produce new clones of Jango Fett to serve as Stormtroopers

Not to mention Phasma getting trapped in the trash compactor, and no sight of the trooper Hix from the Clone Wars who was awakened from stasis and joined Sidon Ithano's pirates and no sight whatsoever of Boba Fett

They did manage to steal a First Order transport in the Lego Adaptation Game, so it's likely.

now to be a bit meta here, do you think the extended (and frankly disturbing, what with the screams and faces of people and all)Β destruction of the hosnian system was sort of a take that at fans who were original trilogy purist? I'm of the opinion that it was,Β but that's just me.

I think so, yes. I mean, I grew up with the Prequels, and I didn't bat an eye at the supposed inneptitude of the Gungans, and I tried to make the pros of the Prequels outweigh the cons.

yeah. i'll admit jar jar in episode 1 is a bit of stitch for the franchise. But he gets somewhat better in episode 2, and there might even be an unresolved character arc in the years of the empire.

Well, there was this one scene in The Force Unleashed II which shows him frozen in carbonite, and there's that Robot Chicken skit of Vader throwing him out the airlock.

oh. but on a different subject, what do you think will ultimately become of Kylo Ren? he's an interesting and polarizing character (and dangerous one).

I think as he is licking his wounds with Snoke after escaping Starkiller Base, his mental state declines as he is conflicted about his devotion to the art of The Sith.

more like the art of snoke, or perhaps a darkside artΒ pre dating the sith or even rakata.
plus i acutally have an idea that adds further complexity to kylo's character. what ifΒ kylo simultaneously love the force and hates it? he clearly reveals in it, but at the same tiem he commentson how he's torn apart. and I don't think it's just because of his conflicting desire and heratige. it's possible that snoke revealed to kylo that the force is not a semi benevolent non diety. it's an active manipulator of life and instigator of misery.
most of the wars are started either because some group split off form the jedi and the jedi didn't like that, or the splinter group became legitimately evil. And all of it started when the force was discovered, or itΒ revealed itself.
kylo may seek to surpass vader, but he may also wish to became so disconnected form people (and the force) that he can legitimately oppose. and the only reason he follows snoke might be because snoke could be a living void in the force.

he may be weak, but he's still dangerous. kylo seems more like a warrior type sith, hell maybe even the equivalent of a berserker. but his a student of history, the cross guard ligthsaber is proof of that.

SoΒ is the First Order as a whole, appearantly. They are in consideration of a clone army in the event someone defected, as Finn had just did.

but they seemd to want to avoid that, instead abducting kids and indoctrinating them form birth to serve. and I'm not sure how a droid army would be received inΒ the first order.

Come to think of it, who uses a droid army anymore? Everyone who served in the CIS Trade Federation is dead, and their battle droid production is postponed indefinately, meaning every droid army in use of the CIS or otherwise is offline and obsolete.

what about the imperial droids form rouge one? give them some armor, basic combat programs, large numbersΒ and a blaster, and you effectively have a new storm trooper core.

There's another consideration. Following K2SO's reprogramming by the Rebels, the Empire may have little choice but to put those droids out of stock to prevent future droid rebellions.
