Description
This is the Prototype Ink Project, my (nominally) first ink drawings in a decade, made using my newly purchased Sakura Micron pens. This technically is the third "full" ink drawing I made, as two "sub-prototype" studies proceeded it, intended as practice for my link linework and study for Billie Viper's newly designed outfit . Billie Viper is my teacher mikiko-art sensei's OC and Vtuber-avatar, and I have a personal tradition of depicting her as Tiandriel's teacher, reflecting the relationship between their respective creators. In this drawing the two are sparring in the Spanish manner (la Verdadera Destreza), although that isn't too apparent in this drawing outside of Billie's sideways footwork, methinks.

What was a worry on my mind as I was constructing the scene became an evident issue as I completed the drawing: A4 is not a large enough canvas for me to execute this sort of scene in this vantage point while maintaining my customary level of detail. The squished-together lines ended up making this look more like practice than the actual two practice drawings I made yesterday. On one hand this prompts me to look towards getting a bigger sketchbook (and a bigger scanner capable of handling things larger than A4), while on the other hand I wonder if this scene could be improved in multiple ways by "zooming in" the camera to be closer to the action, and perhaps much closer to Tiandriel's position as well.

This drawing doubles as my Christmastide gift for Mikiko-sensei. May she continue to be very awesome! 🙏
