well the strobe I used is a Canon 550EX. They rent them at most camera rental places for about 5-10 bucks a day. But don't tell them what you want it for because it's hard on it and the rental places frown on using the strobe feature. The shadow is formed by her coming to a stop in that position. There was just a touch of hot light on the background which is silhouetting her.

Do you have your own studio where you shoot everything? I might ask if I can convert the garage or something, but I don't know what I'd love more... A studio or a Darkroom!

you'd love a studio. and yeah.. you could convert a garage... it might be a little short. It might be a little creepy for models. But until I bought my studio/house I did all my work in a room in a basement that was about 11' x 18' with a 7.5' ceiling.

With a house in the UK, I'd be lucky to have a basement. It's only old old properties that have an underground cellar/basement. Need to move house and do the Garage in, certainly! Or just have a big spare room... *dreams*
Portaiture and photographing with models is brilliant, with two peoples minds... there's so much more inspiration. Or so I find anyway.

Very Nice. It's not too much and not too little. I easily find myself studying it for long periods of time. As you wonder into darkness the light keeps bringing you back. Some would have shot this horizontally but it works so much better vertically. Well done.
