This is the first image I saw on DA and is what caused me to immediately join. It is still as fantastic as the day I first saw it. I ran across it in someone's Fav's and just wanted to tell you how great a photo it is. To me, this photo "is" DA.

Only one flash??? Looks like a strobe during the 1/3s exposure. Now i'm very confused. Great work

Ah.. ok.. the flash fired many times.. wait what did I say exactly.. hold on..
Oh.. well ok.. um it's a "small handheld flash" like the sort of thing you attach to the hot shoe of a 35mm camera. it has a "multi" flash mode. I used it with a mask to make a very narrow beam and followed the movement of the models leg as she moved. The flash fired once for every foot you see. The rest of her body is lit with studio flash, that only fired once.

It's kinda a secret. I developed the method doing earlier strobe work that you may have seen in my gallery. Any guesses?

Ok so.. no.. but I have done that in previous examples.. so good idea. no in this case I simply used a narrow beam from the flash and swung it by had to follow the movement of her foot.
