This is a grisly picture. I'm shocked you would encourage such a morbid view of beauty in her and in others. Tell that girl to eat more, or she'll be anorexic in no time.
The composition of the photograph is very good, and the ripplings in the water are just fantastic — but I've never seen a nude photograph of such a severely malnourished girl. Overal, I don't like it at all. It's a disturbing telltale sign of self-starvation.

Art you a Doctor? Or Perhaps a dietitian. Or just a wind bag. This world is full of people with different body types. Keep your insulting opinions to yourself. The model in this image is not in the least bit malnourished. It is always frustrating that people like yourself, that know nothing at all about the human body, or what people look like with there clothing off, go off on skinny people. I've got news for you. Most people who appear skinny are genetically so. Most of them have never dieted in there life. Most never will. Yes anorexia is a real problem for a lot of people. It has however nothing to do with this model or any that I have worked with. It is a mental illness based on irrationally low self esteem and is therefor quite uncommon in those women who actively seek being photographed naked. The thinnest model I have worked with did have irrationally low self esteem when I meet her however. She thought herself too thin because of people like you. The media would like you to believe that runway models etc. are starving themselves to death, but it's the VERY rare exception, not the rule. For every person in this world dyeing of self imossed starvation there are 5,000 dyeing of obesity.. go yell at them
Sorry this is a sore subject.

No, not a doctor or dietitian, just a near sufferer.
I'm underweight myself, and I've also been on the verge of anorexia several times. I know enough about anorexia to know that once it kicks in, being attractive no longer has anything to do with it. It's a common misconception. I find it hard to describe the feeling, but when I was on the verge of anorexia it was about a kind of purification, an emptying. Every winter I lose weight because I fast sometimes for days at a time, sometimes only eating when I'm at the verge of collapse — sweating, heart palpitations, panting, dizziness.
At some moments I could count my ribs and see my metacarpels through the flesh, as well as every tendon and vein in my hands and wrists. The lowest my BMI has been is probably "severely underweight." Yet, even at the lowest my body weight has ever been, I never looked so ghastly as this. Maybe it's an optical illusion.
I wasn't suggesting she was already anorexic, as, if that were the case, she would not only be ashamed of her appearance, but also socially withdrawn. One anorexic described anorexia as the will to "disappear."
Agreed - there's nothing wrong with her body in itself, and it certainly has its own beauty, as all body types do in their own way. It's nothing to be ashamed of, certainly. Neither is the mentality behind it — but it's not healthy. And the way she seems to inhale through her chest to make her thinner suggested to me she was proud of it.
Apparently, obesity is indeed a "leading preventable cause of death worldwide," thanks for pointing that out. I had no idea. Another interesting piece of information is that anorexia is the most lethal mental illness. The stigma about anorexia isn't any better than that about obesity, and I in no way seek to stigmatize it. But I also don't want to promote it.
Obviously that's not your attention. And yes, it does rather raise questions if we should, then, keep from photographing them nude. Actually, come to think of it — what difference does it make? This isn't mass media. This is an artistic sphere, and here people might be wise enough not to be influenced so easily into starving themselves to become more attractive.
Sorry, it's a sore subject for me too. It's really the mass media I'm angry at — all the advertisements about getting thinner. It's those ads that really kill. It was wrong for me to associate this photograph with them. Nonetheless, I can't help feeling worried about her.
As said, she's certainly not anorexic yet. But I think she's, like myself, in a risk zone.

Oh my god she is beautiful. I love her bald head and long eyelashes. And is that a scarification piece on her leg?
Anyway, love this picture. The water, the model, the simplicity. Everything. Just gorgeous.

She scares me with her skinniness, my daughter who is skinny even thinks so. I do like the lighting though.

the picture is beautiful... but I believe the biggest attraction to this is the anorexic-look of the model.
personally, I think this photograph could have been a bit stronger with a healthier-looking model... but her face is gorgeous
overall, great job. I love your work

Beautiful! I love the pose and how it directs the eyes. The body is calm and serene, yet the water is full of motion. Nicely done.

Incredible.
The model is gorgeous, I love her shaved head, the tattoos, the position of her body, and the water is just perfect perfect. The large expanding ripple, the reflection, etc. Great lighting.
The only thing I'd change is to perhaps alter the composition just slightly... bringing her further to the left and capturing the ripple expanding out further. It's barely worth mentioning - I wouldn't say anything at all if advanced critique were not encouraged.
