Description I've been trying to figure out some Hyperbolic Geometry for a while now. Sometimes it seems super simple - I still don't get it though. Yes, this can be done with just Spherical and Linear, but I coded a variation to make it easier to make different tessellation configurations.

Props to ~cyberxaos for making hyperbolic tiling the hard way with apophysis.

Very nice. Works well with the natural colors.

Hi Michael
I really enjoy this circular patern and wanted to ask you if I could use this as an avatar (with sending the credits back to your page)

It concern a french streaming video group called E.C.P.A.H (Student of Knowledge about Alien Hostile Presence):

[link]

The group is still under construction but it will be a interresting place to share confidential data..

I'm looking to produce my own art for this but it could be a nice idea to have some fractal artist featured there.

see ya

let me get this straight. you want to post videos warning the world of the dangers of aliens, and want my art to be the symbol of your cause?

So are you ok or not?
Did you need more time to think about my idea?

I stopped seeking images actually and waiting your reply but this could be a big help for me.

No problem Michael

I want to clarify a point:
this is not to prevent danger of aliens (in a general way) but it's precisely about HOSTILES ONES ACTUALLY ACTING ON EARTH

Great sense of depth, I think that's what really jumps out at me. It isn't just that there are details beyond what is in the foreground, it's also how the outside doesn't have as much detail and slowly leads you from the outside of the image into the center, which is full of detail. Another often overlooking part of "art" is framing and I love what you did here in that respect.

great work! i really like what you've done with the interior, though i see you also get the stuff outside the main circle; i'd be interested to know if you have any ideas on how to avoid it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MichaelFaber In reply to lyc [2009-01-18 23:49:35 +0000 UTC]

The transformation for this is just circle inversion across a circle orthogonal to the unit circle. Anything inside the unit circle will transform inside the unit circle. The stuff on the outside is there because i added a transform that transforms outside the unit circle.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lyc In reply to MichaelFaber [2009-01-19 01:21:14 +0000 UTC]

ahh i see! yeah that makes sense, because i also had other transformations; without a way to visualise their transformation behaviour (triangles etc.) it seemed to me that it was a property of the circle inversion.

thanks for the cluebat (tm) whack

sorry for the confusion, i was referring to incendia's bilinear / mΓΆbius transformations used in the kleinian limit sets.
