Description
This is a cover for a fantasy book(J.Cervenak: Dablova Pevnost [link] ). Published in Czech Republic.The theme was a classical fantasy fight between the main hero and a black arabic deamon warrior. For the weapons and the armor I did get reference from the author.
I wanted to try more realistic approach and use less saturated colors than usual. Was really fun to do and I learned a lot as well.

Excellent work. But while we're on the topic of realistic...Why is he using two hands on a basket-hilt sword? They are swords designed for one-hand use.

yeah, was thinking the same here. Also no one who learned swordfighting would get his sword "that" much behind him. You want your sword in front of you, becuase otherwise, well you are dead. Same with the axe guy. The horns are the next thing. They serve absolutely no purpose and would weight too much for a human. But that doesn't annoy me quite as much, because, heck, he's a demon(also: who needs to see the enemy when you can look at pretty chainmail all the day)

As per usual, you have captured the movement so well! The cool, dimmed colours are great for this piece.
However, the warrior looks more sort of inspired by Rus Vikings or an Eastern European knight or something more so than Arabic. The axe could possibly be Turkish, but I think especially due to the vegetation in the background, it gives off a colder or more Nordic atmosphere, which kind of influences the perception of the warrior himself.
Other than that, the armour itself looks fantastic! The helmet kind of reminds me of a Prussian helmet with horns, hehe.

Cool! Cool action scene and details, but all the other elements as well - the colors, the connected but opposed action lines, the details of clothing and stance, and the sharpness of focus on upper body/head/weapons where one WOULD be focusing during a fight, while lower legs and scenery have the softer lines of something they wouldn't be focusing on in detail - just general terrain to keep into account and all.
So you've not only focused our eyes on the important part of the picture; you've drawn us into THEIR focus as well.
