Looks awesome man, what resolution was the original piece? Seems to have scaled really well, nice job!

thank you.. i've made it on 12000px wide.. so not really scaled.

Wow, 12000px! Do you do all your work at that kind of resolution? Crazy!

microbot23 In reply to voze [2009-05-27 13:38:50 +0000 UTC]

most of my works are on something about 8000px..
i usually start smaller for the beginning. when i defined the main combo i flatten the whole image and size it up to as big as i can. then paint all over. when it gets to 15000px its hard because of the brush lag and size of a brush is limited to 2500px. thats bullshit. i wish i could work even bigger but adobe keeps focusing on stealing your ram. same with vista, same with os x!

Props man, I'd imagine things would get pretty slow towards the end once you get a few layers going! I know how you feel about ram, I actually do all my high rez work on a cut down 64bit version of windows xp which is probably the fastest OS I've ever used, I find high-res work alot easier, shoot me a note if you want to know more. Keep up the good work!

yes i'm using xp x64 too... i tried vista for like a month or two but then reinstalled xp. just too bad there is no support for those GPU on graphic cards.

i'm looking forward for a workstation with SSD harddrives on a raid.

So about 6 months ago i asked a friend of mine to IM transfer me a file to test some ports on my new router... to my delight, he chose Blue Moon. After gazing at it for 20 minutes, i didn't know if i should be mad at my friend for not showing me it earlier, or thankful for the sweetest eye-candy my brain had feasted on in years. After a few months in search of the creator of this art, i found microbot23 and expressed my thanks for birthing and sharing this fantastic piece. It truly is something to behold, microbot23. All your work is great, but in my opinion, this piece belongs in a museum, guarded by terminator-like robots. Thank you again for creating such a masterpiece, and all my PC's, Macbook, xbox360 and even my PSP thank you for their new backgrounds. PS White frame was a fantastic choice, in my opinion. Can't wait to see your work in the future!

thanks man! if there would be a gallery here who would showoff my stuff i would. but noone cares for a guy with no name like me. every other artist who has build up his name can do whatever he wants. even shitting in a can and he makes money from it. art is a lie.

150x100cm and your computer has not broken? *_* Drawing of such size needs the powerful equipment... I envy =_=

microbot23 In reply to anastasiyacemetery [2009-05-27 17:30:30 +0000 UTC]

ah well.. when you dont have too much layers its okay. my computer is almost 3 years old now. i have one of the first xeon's. its not fast anymore compared with the new CPU's and new xeon's.

but for big files the cpu doesnt matter. more important is the harddrive and ram! i have SCSI harddrives with 15k and 10k rpm. they coast a bit more then normal harddrives.

ow well my computer has more than 10 years I would like to describe its configuration, but my English here will be insufficiently. I will tell simply that he forces to search for the reason of each incorrectly installed program because even the small program can break its work. Good training )

Thanks for the detailed answer, good luck to you

Awesome man! I recently printed my work on 70x100 cm canvas and was already stunned!! but 150x100 is insane
It looks lovely, good choice on the white frame, a black frame would make it look its stuck i think.
Sweet mate!

can i ask how much it cost to print something on that size of format?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

microbot23 In reply to ales-kotnik [2009-05-25 11:35:01 +0000 UTC]

i don't really share the price of production, sorry. i can only say that it was expensive.. i'm sure there are printers who offer a normal paper print on cheap prices but thats not what i want to do. also it might be hard to find a printer where you can work as a team with them, doing testprints, adjusting colors etc.

my dad has an atelier with 2 high res printers so we did everything there with his team. only the frame we gave in production to some local woodworker.
