I love how the frontal snout is given a bone look to it giving it a savage primitive look. Great Art!

reminds me of Dimetrodon and a Pterosaur combination

gives alot of the evolution vibe to it
seems similar to the water creature from the golf course scene

Thanks, the basic pose was based on the thumbnail.

Thanks, you wouldn't wanna rub up against him.. I imagine even his skin texture would be like a rough scaly hide/shark skin. Somewhat of a reptilian/marine mammal mix.

Love it! I guess it wouldn't be something you could ride on, though.

He's more of an aquatic mammal anyway.. in cold climate seas..so I don't think you'd wanna ride him if you could

Really brought the sketch to life Mike!
Was the overall design inspired by any outside source or was this all done by your marvelous mind?

Thanks. I just used the basic silhouette and rough sketch by Katie.. and rendered the rest without any reference, just using my own knowledge, imagination and previous creature and animal design experience.

As expected. ^ ^
I swear its in between you, Neville Page, and Michael Kutsche that are my favorite modern creature designers.
Seriously.

Thanks for pinning me up with such great talent. Michael Kutsche is just insane.. his rendering ability is almost higher than the CG models.

It is, I'm always baffled by his work.
EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I would say the same for Neville, only he makes the CG models. XD
