You know what sucks? Looking for a wall calendar. Last year I put it off until halfway through January, and it turned out great because a Women of DC Comics calendar didn't come out until January 6th. So for a whole wonderful year, I got some nicely drawn, admirably not salacious depictions of 12 characters I think are awesome. And then 2012 comes around and they discontinued the Women of DC. Other calendars that are apparently discontinued: any good ones. Seriously, it's all Chipwrecked and Live Action Green Lantern. Do only grandmothers who are bad at gift giving buy wall calendars anymore?

Well, as with many solutions, the simplest one is the best one, and so I am drawing my own calendar. If I had thought of this earlier, I would have tried to come up with 12 original things to splash on my wall, but as it was, I'd like to just get this done, and since I had DC on my mind, I sketched out 12 lovely lasses (15 actually, I doubled up on three of the months). These are the small scale sketches of them which I will translate onto the big page calendars and color with marker.

Note, this page is missing Power Girl (July) and Silver Age Star Sapphire (August). I'm just going to copy an Amanda Conner as closely as I can for PG, and I'm copying this image [link] for my Sapphire (because I love it that much, even though the original poster's intention was to prove just how terrible the Silver Age Star Sapphire costume was). My goal is to have an attractive calendar, not necessarily an original one, so I don't mind aping other people's styles or poses (you might notice that I stole all of [link] 's noses).

In short, screw you horrible calendar companies; I reject your calendars and make my own.
