Description
Here's the side dishes for my upcoming, one man Metroid party. Metroid themed cupcakes. Or I should say Counting Cakes (or 1 2 3 4 cakes), as that's what the recipe is. I made the batter and the frosting from scratch. Normally the counting cakes are nothing more than butter, sugar, flour, and eggs, but I added cocoa powder so the background could be black (like in the original game). These are all sprites from the very first game, made in cream cheese frosting. Top row is: Ridley, Mother Brain, Samus, Kraid; second row: one of those one eyed owly looking things in Ridley's lair, an energy tank, a metroid, a missile expansion, and a ripper; third row: metroid, zoomer, one of those big fly critters, and metroid; fourth and fifth row: the screw attack symbol and the rest are just metroids, because they turned out the best. Motherbrain, Ridley, and Kraid turned out pretty good, as did all the metroids, but pretty much everything else was too lumpy. There was a Chozo statue purposefully left out because it was crap. But overall, I'm pretty proud of this.
