The Atakor Volcanic Field (حقل أتاكور البركاني; in Arabic), is a volcanic field in the Tamanghasset region, in Algeria (largest country in Africa), close to the highest point in the country (Mount Tahat). The volcanic field consists of several cones surrounded by solidified basaltic lava flows, although the last known eruption is unknown and is believed to have occurred 10,000 years ago.
