Minds a Yamaha too (RBX 270J)! Love it! Perfect beginner bass for me. Some pics of it on my gallery.

270J... does the J stand for the Jazz pickup?
I'm thinking about getting a Fender P for my next bass

Don't think J means "jazz pickup". From what I remember it's not much different than the 270 "non-j". The price was basically the same.
I want a Fender Jazz as my next bass. Not top of the line, but something pretty good. I'm not that good, mind you - thinking of taking lessons.

be your bass this one :thumb6888333: ?
Tis in the same range as mine, the RBX series, but t'isn't the same bass, yours has the split P and the J pickups (I think) and mine has 2 humbuckers... similar but different body shape, different neck and similar but again different head (its slanted backwards)
