Description
Now, before people say: "Oh god! Cover up, that's gross!" This is being posted for a friend of mine who recently lost the ability to breastfeed, someone like me whose daughter wound up in the NICU right after birth, and she, like me, struggled so hard to give her daughter the best start in life that a child could get from his/her mother. Both our daughters are now almost 10 months old, we both wound up unable to breastfeed for our goal of at least a year. (She lasted 9 1/2 months, while I lost the ability around 5 1/2 months)
Breastfeeding isn't something to be ashamed of, it's a gift that you can give your child from the moment they are born.

It's tragic how many people do bottle-feeding because breast-feeding takes more effort to do. Truly tragic, and I know I won't be bottle-feeding when I have my baby.

I know... We wound up supplementing (because I wasn't producing enough) half and half or 1/4 to 3/4 toward the end because she was literally starving because she wasn't getting enough from me.
Breastfeeding was the hardest thing for me to give up, but when I only had one breast producing, and she decided she wanted pure formula... What can you do?

Poor little baby. :< At least it still gets affection, even if it might have to go bottle. D:

Yeah, that's true... I'm hoping this next one I'm able to breastfeed for as long as this little one desires... (Which apparently Missy didn't want to be breast fed for that long... but she was also on baby food by 2 months old by order of the pediatrician...)

Awww. Doesn't matter what the pediatrician says, breast milk is best for babies until they get teeth.
