Now, before people say: "Oh god! Cover up, that's gross!" This is being posted for a friend of mine who recently lost the ability to breastfeed, someone like me whose daughter wound up in the NICU right after birth, and she, like me, struggled so hard to give her daughter the best start in life that a child could get from his/her mother.

Both our daughters are now almost 10 months old, we both wound up unable to breastfeed for our goal of at least a year. (She lasted 9 1/2 months, while I lost the ability around 5 1/2 months)

Breastfeeding isn't something to be ashamed of, it's a gift that you can give your child from the moment they are born.
