Well, I'm back from my trip up North and the first thing I do is whip out a PAINFUL picture for me to draw.

Back when Cari was thirteen and Novadar was sixteen, Novadar was in the mountains when he overheard the sound of a fight. He got closer and found Cari, who was obviously, despite her faded coat, not a native to the area, basicly being murdered by a larger feline who's territory she had stumbled into in order to hunt game during an especially harsh winter.

After months of just eatting small game and getting her kills stolen by larger, stronger predators, and her powers of shadowmelding, healing, and distance attacks faded away and her physical strength dwindled till even the smallest rabbit hunt drained her of the engergy to fight to keep her food. She was, in all means of the sense, dieing.

The fight was the final straw for her, and she gave up fighting. Suddenly the wieght of the preditor on top of her vanished, and her eyes opened to find a young Novadar fighting the larger, shaggy cat as it snarled in bloodlust. The fight was short, but Nova won without a scratch. He then went over to Cari to heal her injuries, and she clutched his jacket weakly and passed out from blood loss.

After such a horrible event, Cari awoke a few days later, in a warm bed, with Novadar feeding her broth with a cloth, and after a year of recovery and companionship, they were fast friends, and Cari, who was being retaught English, was becoming the girl we all know and love today.
