Description
She was back in the graveyard. She sat in front of a headstone a single candle lit, placed between her and the headstone. The small flickering flame the only illumination in the dark. She sat there, a fine misty rain slowly soaking her and the ground around her. Legs crossed in front of her, she meditated on the name of the dead person who was inscribed on the grave before her. Her lips moving fast, a whispered mantra over and over again. Her eyes closed, she didn’t see the candlelight flickering rapidly. She didn’t notice the shadow that loomed up from the grave. Her own words the only ones she heard, she missed the menacing dark chuckle that came from the shadow. She was yanked from her meditative state by a large clawed hand wrapping around her throat. She opened her eyes, staring straight into a set of blood red ones.
She tried to scream, but the creature tightened its grip around her neck. It smiled at her, rows upon rows of razor sharp teeth filled its mouth. A long forked tongue, like that of a snake, slicked out and brushed up the length of her cheek. Amanda shivered in terror and disgust. She clawed frantically at the hand that held her throat. The creature tightening its grip every second cutting off her airway, crushing it.
Amanda uncrossed her legs, using them to kick the creature. It was caught off guard by her sudden urge to fight back and released its grip. Amanda used this as her chance to escape. She scrambled, crawling a few feet away before being able to stand on her feet. She tore off through the cemetery, her throat too sore to even utter a scream. She looked back, the creature now gone. Not one to be considered dumb she faced back around to continue running.
She ran straight into the creature. Its clawed hand finding her throat once more. As she lost consciousness the last thing she remembered was the still lit candle and a dark menacing laugh.
