Love letters

Monday late morning, sunny, warm, overall a perfect day. Oh! There’s the mail man!

You met him out at your mail box with a smile “Hello (Name).” He said kindly

“Hey George.” You smiled back “Anything other than bills today?” You joked

He chuckled “As a matter of fact yes.” He dug though his blue mail carriers bag and took out a few envelopes with your names on them, all were plain white, except one. “Here you are.” He said handing them to you.

“Thank you!” You said happily as he walked off to deliver the rest the mail in his bag.

You ignored the plain white envelopes tossing them on the kitchen table for later.

“Odd.” You said to yourself “There is no return address on this.” You opened the (Color) envelope, inside was a letter, hand written. Very badly hand written. “Either a little kid wrote this or an idiot did.” You said as you read the little letter.

“Dear (Name).
You are beautiful. That is all.

-M”

You were confused, who was ‘M’? and why was he or she writing you? And how did they get the letter sent without a return address!?

“Well, someone thinks I’m beautiful I guess.” You chuckled a bit and set the letter on the table next to the other mail forgetting about it for the moment.

A knock on the door interrupted you from your evening book reading and tea drinking.

“Ugh, who is it?” You called out getting up out of your comfortable chair.

“The king! Who else!?”

You opened the door to be face to face with the Dane. “What do you want Matthias?”

He didn’t say a word just held up two six packs of beer.

“No.” You said shutting the door in his face.

“Awe come on!” He whined

“No!” You said louder.

‘He may be extremely attractive, but no.’ You thought to yourself as you went back to your book.

Tuesday. The next day, just as sunny and beautiful as the day before just a little breeze blowing your hair around.

“Hey George.” You said as your mail man walked up

“Hello, here’s you mail.” He said happily handing you the envelopes. Again there was a (Color) envelope. You looked at it first, no return address. “Hey George how-“ You cut yourself off when you didn’t see him any more. You shrugged it off and opened the colored envelope.

“Again?” You asked yourself

“Dear (name),
You are amazing. That is all.

“A?” You questioned “M and now A, I don’t get it, it’s the same sloppy hand writing, but M, A.” You couldn’t peace it together. Who was M and/or A? They called you beautiful and now…amazing….what?

You decided you that tomorrow you were going to talk to George about this when he stops by with tomorrows’ mail…

Finishing up dishes and cleaning the kitchen was interrupted by a knock on the door.

“Coming.” You called out

You opened the door “Hey (Name)!” Matthias said taking a drink and holding a now five pack.

“I told you no yesterday, and I’m going to tell you the same thing today. No.” You said about to close the door.

He put his foot in “You can’t deny the king.” He smirked

“I can and I will.” You said stepping on his toes making him retreat his foot allowing you to close the door.

“Ow! Why the hell did you do that!?”

“Maybe if you brought something other than beer I would be more nice! MAYBE!” You shouted though the door.

‘Damn that Dane, who does he think he is..oh yeah “the king”…damn him and his…awesome hair…and..’ you found yourself blushing at bit as your thoughts traveled..

Wednesday. A bit breezy again, but still as sunny.

“Oh George.” You said as you saw your mail man walk up. “Can you explain why two days in a row I’ve gotten a letter with no return address on it?”

“Well…” He said a bit nervously “No…” That was a lie, you could tell.

“Oh yeah?” You played along. “So what do you have for me today?”

“Here you are.” He said handing you the envelopes. You quickly tore open the (Color) one and read the sloppy writing.

“Dear (Name),
You smell nice. That is all.

“A ‘T’ now!?” You shouted scaring George away. “I smell nice?” The confusion was too much to handle “I’m going to take a nap.”

You groaned and rolled over, only to open your eyes to see “Matthias!” You shouted falling off the bed “Did you break into my house!?”

“It’s not really breaking in if the door was unlocked.” He said with a proud smile

“Thanks for reminding me to lock my door forever.” You said with attitude as you stood up. “What are you doing here?”

“Well yesterday after you RUDELY Stepped on my foot you said that maybe you would hang out if I brought something other than beer.”

“Ok? What did you bring?” You asked crossing your arms over your chest and glaring at him.

“Liquor.” He said holding up one bottle of clear liquid and another of a light brown.

“No!” you said pushing him out of your room “Something other than alcohol! Do I have to be specific!?”

“The king will get you one of these days (Name)!” You could hear him walk out of the house, but before he did he saw the letters on the table and smiled to himself. “One of these days.” He said quietly.

“H-He was in my room.” You blushed and flopped back onto the bed.

Thursday, a bit cloudy but still pretty nice out.

“Thanks George.” You flashed your mail man a big smile and tore open the new letter from the (Color) envelope.

“Dear (Name),
You make me smile. That is all.

“Another T?” You questioned “M. A. T. T. Matt?” Your eyes widened in realization “No…” You said denying it “It can’t be.”

….Now

You flung open the door which surprised the Dane. “Couldn’t wait to see me.” He smiled

“Shut it! What did you bring today?” You asked a little harshly

“Fudge.” He said taking the chocolaty nutty sweet from behind his back.

“Well, at least it’s not alcohol.” You said taking a piece.

The taste was amazing, so sweet but not too sweet. You let out a “mmm” as you slowly chewed

“The best right?” He asked

You nodded

“I made it myself.”

That surprised you, you looked up at him “Really? It was delicious.”

“Of course. I am the best you know.” Arrogant as always…

Friday, and as for the weather? Who the hell cares!?!?

You raced to the mail box “Hi George!” You called out taking the mail from him before he could even reply and running back into the house.

“Ok Matthias, let’s see what you have to say today.” You said to yourself tearing open the (Color) envelope.

“Dear (Name),
Your smile brightens my whole day. That is all.
-H”

“It has to be him! Matthias! This better not be a joke!”

You timed it perfectly, the time when Matthias would be showing up.

With a cute dress on and your hair done up you waited patiently for him to knock on the door, your heart raced and you fidgeted in your seat with anticipation of seeing him again. You’ve known him for so long, and yes you liked him, a lot, but never have you felt so nervous to see him. If these letters are from him and they are true, then he feels the same way you do. Right?

Matthias didn’t even get a second knock in when you flung open the door.

“Well hello!” He said surprised, but then you saw a tint of pink on his cheeks once he saw your outfit.

“Uhh…” You blushed “Hi.”

“I brought Smørrebrød.” He said happily.

You ate the small sandwiches together, it felt like you were on a date with him with you dressed as cute as you were.

‘She’s on to me.’ Matthias though to himself. ‘But damn she’s cute.’

Saturday, cloudy with a chance of meet balls…..hahahaha it was just cloudy.

Before you could even reach the mail box George had your mail out and ready for you to inspect. “Two special letters today.” He winked, he knew…

“Thanks!” You shouted taking the mail and running back into the house. You opened the first letter.

“Dear (Name)
You give me butterflies when I think of you. That is all.
-A”

And the second…

“Dear (Name)
Your dress was really cute yesterday. That is all.
-I”

“Hmm, M. A. T. T. H. A. I., no….. M. A. T. T. H. I. A. all I need is an S, but why two today?” You said to yourself “What are you planning Matthias?”

Later that day, Matthias didn’t show up like he had the past few days. You felt alone and sad, you had been looking forward to seeing him today, but he never showed. You ended up falling asleep on the couch that night, waiting for him.

Sunday, rainy, sad, dreary, drabby, cold, lonely.

You were still asleep when Matthias picked the lock to your front door and once he got it open he was surprised to see you asleep on the couch. He placed the last letter under your hand and snuck into the kitchen and began to cook.

The smell of something amazing woke you up. “Huh?” You said sitting up from the couch. You could see the light on in the kitchen and someone was in there!

You jumped up only to see a flash of (Color) fly from your hand. It was another envelope…

You picked it up and opened it.

“Dear (Name),
I love you so much. But that isn’t all. I love the way your eyes sparkle when you see something amazing, I love your smile, I love the way your hairs sits perfectly around your face, I love the way you walk, I love your laughter, I love your style, I love your cooking, I love your soothing voice, I love the way you hold your head high in all situations, needless to say…I love everything about you. So, will be the queen a king like I needs?

Tears pooled around your eyes and spilled over, was this all real, or some horrible joke? Were you dreaming, or is the love of your life really in your kitchen right now?

You stood from the couch still holding the letter.

“Matthias?” You called out softly.

He poked his head out from the kitchen, he saw your tears and made his way up to you.

“(Name).” He said softly and used his thumb to gently wipe away your tears “Jeg elsker dig.” He said

You gave him that smile he said he loved so much. “My king, I love you too.”

He brought you into a kiss you never thought you would have in your ebtire life, the most amazing kiss ever!

“I have one more thing to add.” He said pointing to the last letter. “I love the way you kiss.” He said bringing you into another kiss

Extended ending,

“So how did you get in my house again?” You asked taking another bite of the (Flavor) Danishes he had made for you.

He gave you a sheepish smile.

“You broke in again!?” You shouted

“Oh be quite and eat the Danish.” He said shoving the Danish into your mouth.
