Squiby is just a site where you can make clickable adoptables.

The Tigers are based on the "Tiger" species in the game, not a specific character. :3

Oh, it must be referring to the Monster Rancher cartoon. (I totally forgot about the cartoon, I'm not a fan of it.)
The games are creature raising/battling sims where you create monsters and raise them on your ranch. The games and cartoon do not share continuity/canon.
