Description
Who needs a rod? Fred has managed to catch the biggest fish of them all using only a net. Or maybe the big ass "fish" has caught Fred using only a net. Either way it proves the greatness of nets. Yay nets!Fathers day pic 2/4
Featuring a giant river monster, Fred, Fred's dad and Fred's older brother Mike.

When do they find out it's just a sub designed to scare fish and locals away so that the mayor will let an industrialist build a polluting factory near the "unused" river?

Just when Freds hopes and dreams about finding an actual sea monster hit their peak of course. He's going to be pretty sad, but he'll bounce back.

I imagine that Fred's dad is yelling this, "Freddy let go of the net! Your gonna get yourself killed!"

I was Old Lady Weathers! She wanted to scare off the campers so she could by the camp for realestate. And she would have gotten away with it too! If it weren't for that net-loving camper!

Haha, thats too accurate. Its always realestate with these bad guys.

A so the net obsession is born, unless he caught something bigger with a net when he was younger

No idea when that could have started. Nets have many positive attributes and I can see how someone who enjoys trapping things without hurting them would develop a strong appreciation for them. That being said this was probably the moment when his appreciation of nets grew into a mini obsession. They are just so versatile!

Freddy is so excited - it's just as it's written in The National Exaggerator!
Fred's dad seems to know it's a fake, though...

Yep, its everything he ever dreamed it would be. Fame and fortune for proving the existance of monsters is finally within his reach! Freds Dad is much less optimistic...

Awesome!
Other than catching heavy toad fish off of the Satilla River and a couple of sharks off of the sandbars belonging to East Beach and Sea Island here in Georgia, I have no story to compliment this picture.
Who are the other two characters?

Thanks Im glad you like it!
We go beach camping where the adults "fish" which is code for drink with a rod in the sand somewhere nearby. They catch all kinds of big things. I was excited to fish until I caught one, I felt so guilty for putting a hook through its lip that I never fished again. Now I just snorkel, its more fun and way less guilt inducing.
The other two characters are Freds Dad and older brother. He mentions that he has a nephew a few times so it stands to reason he would have an older sibling.

Oh, I think I know ... Christopher Titus used to call it "Beer O'Clock!"
Though, my romps through the sanddunes changed over the years ... from exploring the various paths less traveled, finding a turtle's nest and being careful not to get too close, and even leaning that ghost crabs are both fun and fast! but to later finding out that the dunes made for some of the best hideouts and other "hang outs" later on too.
My joys were shark fishing and whomp-boarding on the sandbars, working on trying to outdo the other fishermen and proud teenagers while making my mother cringe when I would drag home a few shark jaws after cleaned and boiled and bleached, making a promise of being careful. A year earlier, I think it was, I thought for a while I might loose a foot to a shark chomping ... I stepped on the shark in the water, thinking it was a crab! It wasn't that big, but it bled and got infected. I was laid up in bed for two weeks, Mom growling at me for being stupid. Pop kept on saying that he was sure that I was not only ok, but was NOT going to loose the foot. Thanks to people like my Big Sister and the other teenagers ... though my father grounded my Big Sister on the night of her big date where Mom had thought to allow her to drive the MGB. Pop said privately that he thought the grounding was more than justice, but perhaps a good thing.
Gotcha ... wow! You are such a fan. I thought I knew a lot about the series, but I know more thanks to you.

I think if I ever got bitten/stung by something I would be a lot less eager to hang out in the ocean. I mean I know its a possibility but its never happened so I don't think about it much. I did once accidentally kick the top of a giant jelly fish but I jumped out and stayed on the shore for the rest of the trip before anything bad could happen. I am not very brave.
And yeaaaaaaah I know an embarrassing amount of stuff about scooby doo. You're the only person whos ever seemed even a little impressed by it though, so thanks for that haha.

I hear you there. After having my toes nibbled on my mostly crabs, I got tired of going, but I have to admit that the parents having a swimming pool changed a lot of that too. I did still go to the beach, but I wasn't as crazy about the water in the late 1980s. Still, going down there and roasting marshmallows and making smores, playing volleyball for hours, and even doing the burger and hotdog grilling was always fun ... though telling some of the old school ghost stories around the fire was fun too. Kait thrilled me with a few back then too ...

My pleasure, my friend. Gathering knowledge is always fun and takes effort, so it's something I can easily appreciate.
