I know this tutorial is realllly long and huge and probably overly detailed but i thought some people might like to see the hair coloring process in more detail than this tutorial showed- [link]

This is great. ^-^ I'm just starting out and I really suck at coloring and shading and stuff, so I will definitely practice with this.

It's definitely a good tutorial when people need to see more about the individual steps, so it's great... it's put together pretty well!
I will suggest, though, that you not be afraid to go darker! Even the final looks like it could take one more shade color to add a little more detail to the strands of hair and create more depth. On that same note, more highlights would be good too. The reason that "line" of highlight looks out of place is because there aren't any additional highlights on the hair that accentuate it.
But, even if you don't prefer to add more highlights, I think it should at least follow the contour of the hair. The one you have right now would work better for straight hair that just flows down without any tufts.

and yeah youre also right about the darker color. thats the reason i changed the saturation/contrast/hue and all that. but for this particular pic i didnt want too much contrast
i actually think i should have done the tutorial with a different colored hair maybe.

I think it's something you just have to go around and experiment with I think so far I've tried like 3/4 different techniques lols but I think this technique suits your style a lot

That's a LOT of work... It's a lot harder if you're using a mouse (>_<), but it's still worth the try. Thanks for the tutorial!

it seems like a lot but i think thats just because i broke it up into steps. it took me under an hour for the whole thing
