Description
spotted this 2nd gen Mazda RX7 FC while i was at town over a month or so near my old high school. knowing by the intake, its probably the GTX or Turbo II model. these are actually hard to come by compared to the first gen SA/FB RX7's. it was meant to be the Japanese answer to the Porsche 944 back in the 80's. its powered by a 13B Rotary engine, which in the higher end models made over 210 hp. there was also a limited edition model called the Efini III, which had a stiffer suspension and a even more powerful engine making nearly 220hp.Related content

even with the good handling those presumably had? yeah, to be honest the 944 is overrated, not to mention the engine is off a European Volkswagen truck. it is a beautiful car though, i know of a white one with the matching Fuchs 5 spoke wheels which looked clean.

um, that's a 924 that had the crappy VW Transporter Engine....
the 944 had a true Porsche-Developed 2.5 liter DOHC 4 cyl. engine

It was nice looking but I was driving my 240z and the performance of the 944 sucked by comparison in my opinion..

these were also brilliant in videogames like Gran Turismo. Ryo's white RX7 is pretty iconic asides his brother's yellow FD.

you guys don't have those in Korea? they're kind of a common sight in my parts.

nope, no Acura in S.Korea. don't know why only via Gray Importer. The only Acura which I've seen in Korea are the Integra (RSX), and very very very few NSX (EXTREMELY RARE in Korea)
Acura RL is sold as Honda Legend here. and that's the only Honda/Acura currently being sold here in Korea.

so you guys don't even have Civics down there. i liked the first gen RL (US Legend) and if i were to get one i'd rebadge it as the latter. speaking of NSX's, did you hear the next one will be built in America? the fact alone pissed off a numerous ammount of "Enthusiasts"

yup the 2015 NSX is gonna be built in Tenesse.Cuz it's probabaly heck a lot cheaper to do so in America as there are a lot of factories especially around the state of Tenesse whereas Japan is still suffering from the nuclear disaster and many car factories got destroyed, swallowed by earth, and therefore, unable to create a very special supercar. (Sorry for Nissan, which got the most damage, all their Micras, Cubes and GTRs worth millions of $$$$$ inside the factories destroyed)

well, you also have to factor in the fact that they don't have worker unions in the South compared to the Big 3, which are backed up by the United Auto Workers. which are basically irrelevant nowadays and all they want to do is bitch about wanting more money and benefits while doing a half assed job building cars ( at least back then, now they're slowly learning)

no, we do have Civics, (BTW, the all new 9th generation Civic of 2013 was just released 2 weeks ago) but aren't Civics still sold as Hondas in USA and Puerto Rico? (Acura CSX-Honda Civic in Canada I think)
Hondas in Korea- Insight, CR-Z, CR-V, Civic, Legend, Accord

yeah, they're still are. although in P.R, the Corolla is still a huge seller asides the Yaris and Camry. thing is the 2012 model of the Civic has been getting terrible reviews because of its bigger engine, its suspension and the fact it has become bland. then again i'm not a fan of most Honda cars at all because to me they are overrated and the Ricer crowd ruined them for me. not even Japan is selling them anymore so they're now going to be built in the Ohio plant. i've seen a couple of CR-Z and i can honestly say they are nothing like the CRX at all. they actually passed it as its successor.

I really, really like the CR-Z somehow (very unique design combined with technologies) but yeah, I gotta agree, the new Civic is quite, how should I say, not like the Civics of the past...
Oh, so Japan is no longer selling the new Civic..hmmm.
Yeah, I am also not a fan of most Honda vehicles apart from the NSX, which I've been drooling ever since I've been playing Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec.

not since 2008, the Civic had slow sales and decided not to sell it anymore to Japan since they found out its more successful in America. then according to a friend of mine who is Japanese, the Civic is an Otaku car in the cultural sense as well as the S Chassis Nissan Silvia, Toyota Corolla AE86 and then some. another ironic twist is that most Japanese people dislike Anime and the Otaku crowd, but that's another story. the last good Civic was the EK from the late 90's to 2000. they actually screwed up when they decided not to use 4 wheel Double wishbone suspension in the next gen model, then there was the increased weight. the current gen Civic Type R Hatchback is actually slower, more anemic than the previous gen model.

yeah, around the US it has the stigma of being the ride of choice for Ricers. which overall ruined the Tuner reputation.
