Description
The Matchlock Gauss Rifle is one of the most interesting weapons in the TSC arsenal. Using 5mmEC ammunition, the weapon is known to make a mockery of most non-powered infantry armor. This weapon is known for it's dependability. As long as the barrel isn't rusted or the battery connections worn out, the weapon will fire until the barrel or battery life is depleted. Using a fission cell (based off of fission batteries of yore) the weapon can outlast the barrel life numerous times over. This is the A series, the first off the production line in the Citadel in the early interstellar expansion years. The weapon would undergo numerous updates in it's lifetime and it's dependability when even the most stalwart of energy weapons fail is legendary.

Like all post-War gauss weapons that are manufactured by the TSC, the Matchlock has a covering for it's coils to prevent battle damage creating electrical explosions.
