Him and his sister were so hilarious in the show, they were almost the whole reason I watched it.
I also liked that their characters weren't underplayed/Hiccup wasn't over-glorified; I enjoyed when Ruffnut tamed the scauldron very much.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I was extremely busy those two months. And you're so right about Hiccup not being over-glorified in the show; I honestly wouldn't enjoyed it if they made an idol out of Hiccup. Instead, everyone was pretty much in character. And of course, I loved their further characterization in the sequel c:
