Description
BEAUTY CANNOT BE EATEN WITH A SPOONThe breeze doesn’t push
It pulls beside you
Not making you do anything
Just letting you feel
Its light, modest power
Nothing here seems to be demanding
The mountains unmoving
Not waiting
Withstanding the test of time
Cars occasionally pull along
The thin strip of road below me
Keeping to their pace
By the dotted yellow line
Maybe they’re afraid
Of not being told what to do
Afraid that this place
Allows you to stay
For as long or as little
As you’d like
Nothing here
Seems to know
How amazing it is
From the bending yellow grass
The dusty, exquisite colors
Of the flowers
To the lake
Of everlasting blue
None know
How beautiful they are
No,
Beauty cannot be eaten
With a spoon
But you can feel it around you
Feel it light up
Unravel inside you
Until you can hold it
Steadfast to you
So now no matter what happens
Whatever hideous façade awaits
Whatever prevalent thing you
Must conquer by yourself;
You’ll always have it
