Eyvel from Fire Emblem Thracia 776 is probably the ideal Jeigan character, she is only available for 5 chapters(7 if you include gaiden chapters) so she leaves(actually she gets captured) before she outlives her usefulness. also since Thracia does everything it can to be the most difficult Fire Emblem game in the entire series(healing spells can miss, super strong enemies appear at random, you have to get new equipments by stealing it from enemies, etc) Eyvel will be necessary for the super strong enemies you'll face in the beginning.

I like Marcus as a character, and in FE7, Marcus as a unit isn't that BAD. (I think Isadora is actually worse than Marcus.) He's usable. He's inferior to the other knights, but he can be usable. I also really like his personality. His devotion to Eliwood and Elbert (and to Roy, in the other game) is admirable.
But yeah Seth is superior in every way. In fact, he almost always ends up in my final party in FE8, just because even though he's the Jagen/Oifey, he's still usable if you give him an Angelic Robe so that his HP keep pace with the others; his other stats will carry him just fine.

Seth isn't the best fighter, but he's definitely my favorite Jeigan too. Probably because they actually built him into the story and his supports with Eirika are awesome.

i use marcus when i can't choose my party and he's automatically on the map...

I actually intend to use him throughout the whole game. The stat boost items usually work for me, like an angelic robe and some goddess icons. Sometimes I even put him through the arena.

Live by the Jeagan, Die by the Jeagan. Personally, I think my favorite one is Titania. It's so cool how she can actually class change on Radiant Dawn.

She's weak but sometimes viable in Path of Radiance if you can solve her low HP problem. But yeah, she's actually pretty good in Radiant Dawn.
