Description
I don't know what it was about this picture. Maybe it's because I had some initial direction. Maybe it's because I wasn't trying to prove anything to anybody (including myself). Whatever it was, this is the first time I've really enjoyed drawing something in a long, long time.Related content

That's funny. I liked the outside two the best.

This is a bit of an awkward position for me because I've loved a lot of your work over the past few years, including pieces that weren't exactly in my usual tastes. You certainly can't be "wrong" about how you feel, but now I feel guilty knowing that you didn't enjoy working on those, or at least not very much. It's a bit stupid on my part, I know.
As for the shapes themselves I find your tendency towards more stern expressions and the more elegantly dressed interesting. Vampires are cool (except for you know which series); the bitter cloaked woman chewing on the piece of grass is evocative because it feels like something just got to her at that moment, whether a memory or an event itself. The Young queen or princess looks rather taken with something or someone, which could make for a nice story because it spawns so many ideas. Perhaps she needs to consult with the wise-looking gentleman on the right to figure out what to do.
The baby beaver is simply adorable.
I'm sure its name is not "Justin," right?

I don't think you should feel guilt about that. I appreciate the support you have given over the years regardless.
I don't even know if it's a beaver. But it's the only thing I saw when I looked at that shape, other than a puddle. I really didn't even feel like I was drawing these. I already saw what they looked like before I even put a mark on the page. I was just 'revealing' them.
Although I'm a little distraught that the roguish character is identifiable as a woman. Not my intention, but completely understandable.

I think the rogue (second one, right?) it's the smooth skin, shape of the nose and chin, being skinnier, and the only face line looking like part of the scowl. But I'll freely admit that I didn't think about it but just went on automatic.
Do you think that it would be fun for you to occasionally drop inkblots or find some other way to create random shapes to do more of these? At the very least it could give you an excuse to do some cloud watching.
