Hi, I have a question about these comments of yours.
I see you say the same thing on every single daily deviation. And it's always the exact same message, so I figure you litterly copy/paste it without thinking twice.
Doesn't that seem terribly impersonal and meaningless? It's more of a reflex than anything else, isn't it?
I don't doubt that you do wish everyone a nice day, but this seems like just another pointless message for the artist to delete from his inbox, doesn't it?

Hello!
To keep it short so we don't fill the artist's page with off topic discussions, i do understand your point of view and i will try to answer you. First of all, i appreciate you kept it polite.
I tried to figure out a short comment that would fit the situation and that one is what i came up with, a message simple and to the point that shows how i feel. Impersonal, perhaps, how could i make it personal when most of the time i don't know the artists? Would you rather have this one or something like "omg cute/beautiful" or any other similar word? My personal preference goes towards a simple, non-hypocritical message that doesn't try to flatter you with just one word that is in fact most of the times written by reflex, as you say. Leaving a congratulatory comment is one thing, writing a critique/relevant comment for the artist's growth is another. And even if it wouldn't be a critique per se, an personalized comment for each deviation i see and comment on every day (not just DDs i mean) would take me at least 2 hours, time i don't have anymore (- i used to do this, so this estimation is from experience).
But they are not not meaningless, at least from my point of view. I am genuinely happy about their accomplishment. I've discussed this several times before and have more details on this topic on one of my journals if you wish to continue this discussion.
If they just delete it or reply to the comment, that's out of my hands and it's every person's choice to make.
