Description
A great new adult cartoon that genuinely surprised me. Despite it having generic character designs and characters who are a bit annoying at first both of those things eventually grew on me. It had so many good aspects to it including well developed characters, an engaging storyline, funny jokes, well done emotional scenes, fantastic animation, and a lot of heart. I was genuinely surprised by how dark this show got near the end of the first season, but that isn't a bad thing. I like shows that succeed at trying something new. This is possibly the best adult cartoon that we have gotten since Bojack Horseman and Rick and Morty. So if you bare through the gripes that I had within the first couple of episodes and stick with the show I am sure that you will find out that this is a great cartoon. I can't wait for season 2.Related content

What are some of your favorite art styles in general in adult animation? Since the genre is infamous for having their characters not look ugly so much as scary, monstrous demons from the netherworld who want your immortal soul?
For me personally, the Boondocks, Black Dynamite, and Archer have good human designs, the Simpsons and Futurama characters are ugly cute, and I need to think of others.

It is about a death metal band called Dethklok and it follows them hanging out and going on tours and stuff.

Sounds like fun! It's amazing how many good adult cartoons there are though the overwhelming majority seem to be underrated. If only adult animators would stop having childish, immature shock show sitcoms about ugly abominations made of very simple shapes standing around talking about things that most cartoons would animate. Like seriously, guys, you have a budget. Use it! Oh, wait people on the internet have had beautiful character designs on nothing. This includes students.

Adult Swim actually has two types of cartoons. Cheaper ones that are made yearly (ATHF, Squidbillies) and more expensive ones that are only made every couple of years (Venture Bros, Rick and Morty). The cheaper ones help fund theore expensive ones.

I really wish Adult Swim could become a separate network. If they aired during the day they could probably get a bigger audience so we don't have to wait for ten episodes every two or three years.

I guess, but I don't think this is a bad thing. Quite a few of Adult Swims cartoons are cheaply made, but they make up for it by having really funny and clever writing.
