Another year and another list of my favorite animated things from that year. So yeah, 2018 was an interesting year for animation. I personally think that it was an alright year for theatrical animation, but if I am being honest not that many of the animated movies I have seen this year are among my favorites except for Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse. TV animation fared quite a bit better though with quite a few of the new cartoons coming out easily being among some of my favorite of all time like the top three spots on this list. As a whole it was a pretty good year for animation. So lets get onto the list itself. Here are my top ten favorite animated things of 2018. Honorable mentions include Ralph Breaks The Internet, Disenchantment, Batman Ninja, Teen Titans Go To The Movies, Hotel Transylvania 3, and The Grinch. Now on to the list10. Smallfoot

Have you seen the new dragonball movie yet? As someone who has lost interest in western animation and usually only keeps up with dragonball, Hilda and into the spiderverse were great! I haven't seen much of Craig of the creek but from what I have seen it does seem great! I might watch more of it! As for live action Venom was a wonderful underrated treat that I enjoyed. 2019 might be the year I start getting back into western animation!

I'm five episodes into it, and I was watching it only to see the hype surrounding it. And it lived up to that hype. Honestly, my favorite part of it so far is the relationship between Hilda and her mother. It's nice to see such a pleasant relationship between a child and her parent after a long time of seeing shows with terrible or distant relationships with the two. I also liken it how they don't have the clichΓ© of her mother not believing her daughter's stories or not being able to see anything supernatural like most shows like this would probably do.Β

Yeah. Johanna is honestly one of the best cartoon moms of all time in my opinion. She is such a well written and likable character.
