I love art, and I respect photography, but all these leather/bondage pictures DA keeps showing as DD's are just soft-core porns to me. There was one of a mouse girl who MIGHT be art since it had a weird tinge of humor to it, but this is just porn. There is nothing graceful about a woman wearing a dominatrix's uniform, nor anything artistic about her standing in front of a ruining wall. Even the CATEGORY it's under is not artistic (Fetish Portraits if you did not see).Β
I do agree that the commenter should have a slight bit more respect considering this is Deviant Art, but if I had seen this exact same photo on a website like Tumblr or 4Chan I'd just think it was fancy porn. Now, if she had been showing a less sexualized pose (I.e her butt being pushed out less and the zip being up a little more so it's not pointing to her crack as much.), this might have a feel to it as if female dominance is falling apart (represented by the wall), but instead it's just a charming lady exposing her back in a teasing manor with a backdrop hinting to exhibitionism.

Admitable it's not sex or showing any genitalia, but it is still an image made for sexual pleasures(proven by the fact it's under the fetish catagory). You wouldn't consider a picture of a girls feet porn, but to some with the proper fetish it's exactly what they love.
I'm not mad about the fact it's a fetish shot, it's a beautiful image in all honesty; I'm mad because pictures like this are considered art. Art is supposed to be something to express an idea or emotion, while this is just sexualized.
Β It also angers me pictures like this has been getting ALOT of DD's lately, when they have little to no actual artistic abilities put into them(though a few did have some interesting input like the one of a colorful woman in a broken-world) . I don't mean to hate on the photographer or the model, they both did a wonderful job, but the picture simply is (softcore) porn, and little more.

No, that's -your- definition of art, and that's totally ok that -you- think that, but...if you think this is porn, just...don't look at it. Β You, thankfully, do not get to define art for all of us, and it's hardly helpful to anyone, including the artist, for you to comment on how much "porn" you think their work is. Β I don't like certain types of art, but I don't go around telling people who make it that it's "not art". Would you show this to a child to try to teach them about art? What exactly is 'artistic' about this picture then? Explain to me, I'm all ears. (To be noted for this example; most children are shown nude arts now, but nothing sexualized like this. Sexy is not artistic, sexy is sexy.) Even your comment in the feature did not point a single quality of this other then 'alluring'.

Also, I wasn't meaning you directly as who has been featuring things (I did not mean to offend you if that is what you thought I meant). Over the past three or so months, I've noticed a LARGE jump from regular photography (including nudes) to sexualized images.
I never take notice over who features the images because I never really knew how the system worked, all I knew is the images that were being given such high praise were not of the usual quality/level of expectation DA had set for me over the two years I've been here (all but this one was spent on my old account I got rid of.)

It would be pretty interesting (or not at all) to live in that ideal world in which men do not leave comments like this one to a photo like this one. In our world though, one should not be surprised by them, for the sake of one's own mental health.
