Kithood: (Birth - 6 moons)
Lionkit was born to the Ruinclan Queen, Softmoss, along with his two sisters Yarrowkit and Marigoldkit. Life was as normal as they thought it should be, though the kits were completely unaware of the clan's prejudice towards fatherless kits. Marigoldkit would sit at the Nursery entrance and watch cats pass by, hoping someone would come say hello, but no one did. Lionkit was angered by this, he loved his sisters and believed that everyone else would too if they spent time with them. He told them that he was going to show everyone in the clan that unfathered kits were just as good as everyone else.

TL;DR:
-Born to Softmoss, along with Yarrowkit and Marigoldkit. Father was absent and unknown.
-Other cats avoided Lionkit and his sisters due to them having no father.

Apprenticeship: (6 moons - 12 moons)
Lionkit was named Lionpaw upon becoming an Apprentice, and was given Fuzzystrike as his mentor. Fuzzystrike was nice, although he did have his quirks: he picked and chose which parts of the Warrior Code he would follow, and some of his morals were questionable. He thought she-cats should continue their Warrior duties even while they were expecting kits, which included participating in battle.

Without the eyes of Queens on them anymore, two toms, Quickpaw and Swiftpaw, found this as an opportunity to pick on the fatherless group, Lionpaw in particular. Lionpaw endured it for a while, his sisters didn't have to face it, so he was thankful for that. His resentment built until finally Lionpaw rabidly attacked the two toms, leaving scars on Quickpaw's face and Swiftpaw's side. Lionpaw was a large tom when it came to muscle mass, they just hadn't realized it until the attack. While the two Apprentices never made fun of Lionpaw again, Sweetstar was displeased and made him help the Medicine Cat while the two were healing. Fuzzystrike congratulated him while no one was looking.

After all three were freed from the Medicine Den, Quickpaw and Swiftpaw expressed how cool it was that he was able to do what he did against two cats; they respected him now. The three hung out more, becoming friends, then best friends.

Warriorhood: (12 moons - 91 moons)
Swiftwing and Quicksnake were already Warriors by the time Lionclaw earned his name, which he was given for his strong claws. The two friends didn't exactly have any goals they wanted to accomplish other than having a family, Lionclaw was the only one who wanted to become Leader; he still wanted to show that fatherless cats could still be good. He went out of his way to do things that would show Sweetstar that he was a kind Warrior and someone who should be trusted. He tried to make friends with some of the clan's most respected Warriors, most were a bit suspicious, but Dawnpelt entertained his efforts; she didn't really view him as a friend, but she wanted to see what his plan was.

One day during a border patrol, Lionclaw and a few other Warriors were lead by Dawnpelt, who was now the Deputy, when they heard a commotion coming from the direction of camp. The group started running in it's direction when they saw a group chasing after one cat; Redbird, an Elder who had been having many memory problems, and who was running right towards Dawnpelt's group. When he came up to the group, he got right into Lionclaw's face and started shouting about the return of Mudpaw, the first cat to have entered the Endless Swamp. The cats around tried to restrain him as he continued to yell that Mudpaw must be banished before they kill again, then he shouted that he wished he never would have mated with Softmoss, allowing him to live. Lionclaw was shocked to hear his father was the Elder everyone had found to be a bother to the clan, Dawnpelt comforted him, now understanding why he was trying to be friends with the respected Warriors. Redbird died a few days later, he had poisoned himself.

Lionclaw was struggling with the news, learning that his father had been in the clan the whole time and no one said anything, that his father had gone mad, that his one and only interaction with him was the tom wishing he didn't exist. Quicksnake and Swiftwing weren't able to provide support, so Lionclaw went to Softmoss instead. When he did, she went on the defense and tried to dismiss it, not ready to deal with the situation. He pressed her, but she stated that what's done is done and he should be greatful he's even alive. Lionclaw was displeased and frustrated, but he left it at that, though not without a new outlook on his mother.

During his frustration, he and another Warrior, Foxlight, began speaking. He vented to her about his family, and while she looked uncomfortable about it, she didn't say anything, so he continued to vent; he was desperate for someone to lean to. After finding a comfort buddy in Foxlight, he quickly developed feelings for her, although he wanted to be a gentleman and take things slow, so he first opted to be her friend. He'd bring her gifts and spoke to her frequently, sharing personal stories to earn her trust. Eventually it worked, Foxlight seemed relaxed around him now and she even shared her own stories about her other friends and family.

He became defensive of Foxlight, and wasn't afraid to tell her when he thought one of her friends was doing questionable actions. She vented about a tom named Mousefoot a lot, he acted like a jerk and would talk loudly about all the she-cats he thought were attractive during patrols, even during hunting patrols. Lionclaw reaffirmed that the tom was a jerk, and how he would never do that to her. He slowly started slipping in hints that he liked her, along with telling her that he loved her, though Foxlight took that as platonic love.

Dawnstar's Deputy, Hummingrunner, stepped down from her role to become a permanent Queen after a bite from a venomous snake left her paw dead. To gain Foxlight's admiration, Lionclaw spoke to Dawnstar and suggested Rustflank as Deputy; Dawnstar was glad to see him promote someone else instead of himself. Rustflank was surprised to be picked as Deputy, as he was sure most cats thought of him to be average at best.

Lionclaw trying to help Rustflank seemed to set off the clan as they all gossiped about it, most being able to correctly guess Lionclaw's feelings for Foxlight. He overheard some Warriors in camp talking about it, which made him worry that they would tell Foxlight about it before he could; to make it worse they all spoke badly about it because of Redbird's absence during his kithood, and the tom's abnormal behavior towards the end of his life. Out of fear, Lionclaw went to Foxlight immediately and asked her to be his mate, but based on how uncomfortable she looked, he could tell that she had already overheard the clan's gossip. It was hard, but he could still walk, he understood that he couldn't make her love him. He went to Dawnstar, the only cat he knew to trust his feelings to that was left, and expressed his sadness and his feelings for how he didn't know what to do next with his life; Dawnstar expressed her own concerns.

He thought being rejected would be the hardest part of this situation, but when Foxlight became mates with Mousefoot less than a quarter moon later his body burned with anger. Some womanizer, egotistical tom like Mousefoot could sweep any she-cat off her paws whenever he wanted to, while Lionclaw was shoved away over something he had no control over. No matter how much he hunted, the anger couldn't go away, especially since he had to see them every time he returned to camp. Some days he slepted under the Wooden Monster just so he wouldn't have to look at the couple.

Rustflank wasn't Deputy for long, a powerful sand tornado swept through camp and threw a cactus at the tom. He lost his left eye and his left leg lost all feeling in it after the needles damaged his nerves. He asked to retire early, which Dawnstar granted.

TL;DR:
-Lionclaw is on a patrol when Redbird, the elder, comes running to him. Redbird runs to Lionclaw, yelling about Mudpaw. Redbird wishes he had never mated with Lionclaw's mother, revealing that he is Lionclaw's father.

Deputy: (91 moons - 119 moons)
The clan's chattering came to a hault when Lionclaw was elected Deputy after Rustflank, the silence was deafening. Never before had a cat with no father become Deputy, but Dawnstar believed that the idea of a fatherless tom being a bad thing was something she disagreed with and she wanted to show the clan just that. The clan was unsure, but his family congratulated him. Learning about how to set patrols and which cats worked best together during patrols wasn't easy for him, he struggled a lot. It especially didn't help when he had to interact with either Foxlight or Mousefoot; the two seemed to flaunt their relationship in his face, a constant reminder of how he was alone and had no one to grow old and raise kits with.

It wasn't long before he was given another apprentice, this one went by the name Blackpaw. She was shy, but hidden under that black fur was tremendous physical strength, Lionclaw wasnt going to let it go to waste.

One day Blackpaw came to him, telling him that her mother distrusted him but she didn't know why. Lionclaw had to break the news to her, how cats distrusted him because his father abandoned him and his sisters when they were kits, and that other cats probably felt the same way about her, because she had no living father either. But he didn't want Blackpaw to face that, so he told her he would protect her and be her friend, like a father. He never asked her mother, but to himself he considered Blackpaw his now adopted daughter. He trained her to fight with raw strength, and he made sure to teach her to stand with intimidation so no one would dare mess with her the same way Quicksnake and Swiftwing did with him. When she became a warrior, she was named Blackclaw for her strength and in Lionclaw's honor.

Not long after his apprentice had become a warrior did a patrol return to camp after sighting dogs on their territory. Lionclaw called on Blackclaw, her close friend Embertail, Dawnstar, and Foxlight to aid him. Dawnstar and Lionclaw took on one dog, while Blackclaw, Embertail, and Foxlight took on another. Lionclaw was attacked by the dog, finding himself under it's powerful claws, while Blackclaw was snatched up in the other dog's jaws, being swung around until her tail snapped off her body, sending the she-cat flying. Embertail and Dawnstar tried to jump to her aid, but Dawnstar was killed when a two-leg in the distance tried to shoot one of the dogs, but missed. Embertail was snatched up in the jaws of the second dog, Foxlight became so stunned by the sudden actions that she couldn't move. Lionclaw jumped on the dog that gripped onto Embertail and clawed it until it dropped her, the dogs then retreated to the two-leg in the distance. Lionclaw immediately went to the unconscious Blackclaw, Foxlight wanted to carry Dawnstar back to camp, but Lionclaw growled for her to carry Embertail.

Embertail meant so much to Blackclaw, the whole clan was pretty sure they fancied each other. He felt guilty for suggesting she come along on the patrol. The scene of Foxlight standing back while the dogs attacked played over and over in his mind as they headed back to camp. Embertail and Blackclaw were immediately given to Buzzardwing and Lionclaw ordered another group of warriors to go and bring back Dawnstar; Foxlight immediately sought out comfort in her mate. The clan was loud with questions of what had happened.

Dawnstar was dead, Embertail was dead, and Blackclaw was hardly breathing. He didn't sleep that day. As the sun began to set he felt a heavy weight on him.

Buzzardwing accompanied him on his trip to the Star Tunnel to gain his nine lives. It was an odd trip, walking into the tunnel it wasn't an abrupt change from reality to Starclan: it was so slow that it wasn't noticeable, not until 9 figures stood before him. Most of them were cats he couldn't recognise, and some of them were as ancient as the clans themselves. One by one they shared their memories and gave him his lives: Snowmask gave him the life of justice, Sandstorm gave him the life of healing, Jumpingbounce gave him the life of appreciating a medicine cat's companionship, Embertail gave him the life of love, Softmoss gave him the life of patience, Sweetstar gave him the life of endurance, Fuzzystrike gave him the life of acceptance, Juniperclaw gave him the life of wisdom, and Dawnstar gave him the life of truth.

Leader: (119 moons- Current)
They hailed him by his new name: Lionstar, leader of Ruinclan. Now that the clan was his, it was time he avenged Embertail and Dawnstar.

He marched into camp and took his place on top of the stone behind the Leader's den, announcing his place as Ruinclan's Leader. His first act as leader was banishing Foxlight for her inaction during the dog attack, stating that had she done something Embertail would still be alive, and maybe even Dawnstar. He even speculated that maybe Foxlight wanted Embertail to die, so Blackclaw would be heart broken, which would hurt him as a result. Mousefoot argued that it wasn't the case, to which Lionstar pointed out how he was able to jump into action after getting attacked, unlike Foxlight who hadn't sustained a scratch.

The argueing went on, and in desperation Foxlight pulled the now conscious Blackclaw away from the grieving circle and asked her to talk some sense into Lionstar. She sided with Lionstar, likely wanting justice for Embertail. Backed into a corner, Foxlight and Mousefoot left the clans forever.

The clan needed someone they could depend on now that Foxlight was shown to be a traitor, so he hailed Blackclaw, showing how she was so dedicated to protecting them that she even lost her tail. He named her Missingtail in honor of this. He named Quicksnake as his deputy and dismissed the clan.

He wanted to show the clan he was a good leader, and one thing the clan had struggled with before was having enough herbs. He wanted to surprise Buzzardwing, so he didn't tell her as he held a private meeting with the Vistaclan Leader. After some time they were able to come to an aggreement: Ruinclan would leave prey at the border, and Vistaclan would leave herbs there as well.

He proudly announced this deal to Buzzardwing, and while she was relieved to have more help regarding keeping the clan safe, she knew Lionstar did it for his image, as opposed to doing it for the well-being of his clan. She knew she had a lot of work to do. They befriended each other slowly, and she showed him that he didn't have to be insecure about his past nor his mistakes with her. It was uncomfortable for him, the only cats who didn't judge him like that was his mother and sisters. Buzzardwing was able to nurture the part of Lionstar that he never allowed to grow, and without realizing it he became kinder for the sake of kindness, not to prove anyone of his kindness.

This change was most noticable during an extraordinarily harsh Green-leaf. Crowfood was found all around the territory dead from dehydration, digging at the water holes showed to be fruitless, and cutting into cacti for water was harder due to the hard, squishy skin, making piercing especially difficult. Cats were thirsty and tired all the time. Lionstar knew that if the others died from dehydration, unlike him they would not come back. So despite Buzzardwing's pleads, he refused anything that could be used to help someone else hydrate. Buzzardwing gave him herbs to aid the pain, but he ended up dying 3 times due to dehydration. Other cats struggled as well, and many families were left grieving. The rain was a blessing from Starclan, even if the heat still persisted.

Buzzardwing and Lionstar ended up becoming closer than they had expected, but because of their places in the clan they could never become mates, at least not in life. Once they passed into Starclan they would no longer be Leader and Medicine Cat, they would just be Starclan cats. So that was the plan; friends in life, mates in Starclan.

Looking back on his past began to be painful, now that he knew what his true motives were. The most painful memory was him banishing Foxlight, it was so unnecessary. He admitted his guilt to Missingtail, but in typical Missingtail fashion she didn't say anything. He wished he could have been able to show her how to open up, but he struggled with it himself.

Age started to catch up to Lionstar and his friends, Quicksnake retired to the Elder's den, and with Swiftwing half blind and just as old as Quicksnake, Lionstar decided to name Missingtail as the next deputy. He trusted her greatly. During the same moon: Vistaclan had a harsh outbreak of Rat's Bite. Lionstar feared that it would spread to Ruinclan and tried to temporarily opt out of their deal, but after some pleading he agreed to continue leaving prey at the border, but they would not accept herbs until the disease was taken care of. It took less than two moons for a better cure to be found by Groveclan, allowing Vistaclan to heal and for their trade to continue.

Many cats he knew had passed on for one reason for another, but Buzzardwing's death felt different. She had died from old age despite being younger than Lionstar. Before when someone died he could rely on Buzzardwing or Dawnstar, but the only cat he had left was Missingtail, and she didn't know how to help. He had to rely on himself, but getting up for patrols was getting harder with each passing day. He thought what he would long for was for his final life to be taken so he could be with Buzzardwing, but facing death is too scary for him.

"I don't know, I don't like it. No. He's mean," his voice was low and grumbly, like rubble rolling down a cavern. He wanted Ghostkit to stop whatever it was he was doing, he wanted his momma. "Momma!" he whined.

He lowered his body down to lay on his belly, tucking his limbs under his fluffy mass to keep warm. He wanted to be left alone right now, his family cuddling him was okay, but he didn't want the other kits, queens, or even weird bird-things to interact.

He told them that he was going to show everyone in the clan that unfathered kits were just as good as everyone else.

TL;DR:

Apprenticeship: (6 moons - 12 moons)
Lionkit was named Lionpaw upon becoming an Apprentice, and was given Fuzzystrike as his mentor. Fuzzystrike was nice, although he did have his quirks: he picked and chose which parts of the Warrior Code he would follow, and some of his morals were questionable. He thought she-cats should continue their Warrior duties even while they were expecting kits, which included participating in battle.

Without the eyes of Queens on them anymore, two toms, Quickpaw and Swiftpaw, found this as an opportunity to pick on the fatherless group, Lionpaw in particular. Lionpaw endured it for a while, his sisters didn't have to face it, so he was thankful for that. His resentment built until finally Lionpaw rabidly attacked the two toms, leaving scars on Quickpaw's face and Swiftpaw's side. Lionpaw was a large tom when it came to muscle mass, they just hadn't realized it until the attack. While the two Apprentices never made fun of Lionpaw again, Sweetstar was displeased and made him help the Medicine Cat while the two were healing. Fuzzystrike congratulated him while no one was looking.

After all three were freed from the Medicine Den, Quickpaw and Swiftpaw expressed how cool it was that he was able to do what he did against two cats; they respected him now. The three hung out more, becoming friends, then best friends.

Warriorhood: (12 moons - 91 moons)
Swiftwing and Quicksnake were already Warriors by the time Lionclaw earned his name, which he was given for his strong claws. The two friends didn't exactly have any goals they wanted to accomplish other than having a family, Lionclaw was the only one who wanted to become Leader; he still wanted to show that fatherless cats could still be good. He went out of his way to do things that would show Sweetstar that he was a kind Warrior and someone who should be trusted. He tried to make friends with some of the clan's most respected Warriors, most were a bit suspicious, but Dawnpelt entertained his efforts; she didn't really view him as a friend, but she wanted to see what his plan was.

One day during a border patrol, Lionclaw and a few other Warriors were lead by Dawnpelt, who was now the Deputy, when they heard a commotion coming from the direction of camp. The group started running in it's direction when they saw a group chasing after one cat; Redbird, an Elder who had been having many memory problems, and who was running right towards Dawnpelt's group. When he came up to the group, he got right into Lionclaw's face and started shouting about the return of Mudpaw, the first cat to have entered the Endless Swamp. The cats around tried to restrain him as he continued to yell that Mudpaw must be banished before they kill again, then he shouted that he wished he never would have mated with Softmoss, allowing him to live. Lionclaw was shocked to hear his father was the Elder everyone had found to be a bother to the clan, Dawnpelt comforted him, now understanding why he was trying to be friends with the respected Warriors. Redbird died a few days later, he had poisoned himself.

Lionclaw was struggling with the news, learning that his father had been in the clan the whole time and no one said anything, that his father had gone mad, that his one and only interaction with him was the tom wishing he didn't exist. Quicksnake and Swiftwing weren't able to provide support, so Lionclaw went to Softmoss instead. When he did, she went on the defense and tried to dismiss it, not ready to deal with the situation. He pressed her, but she stated that what's done is done and he should be greatful he's even alive. Lionclaw was displeased and frustrated, but he left it at that, though not without a new outlook on his mother.

During his frustration, he and another Warrior, Foxlight, began speaking. He vented to her about his family, and while she looked uncomfortable about it, she didn't say anything, so he continued to vent; he was desperate for someone to lean to. After finding a comfort buddy in Foxlight, he quickly developed feelings for her, although he wanted to be a gentleman and take things slow, so he first opted to be her friend. He'd bring her gifts and spoke to her frequently, sharing personal stories to earn her trust. Eventually it worked, Foxlight seemed relaxed around him now and she even shared her own stories about her other friends and family.

He became defensive of Foxlight, and wasn't afraid to tell her when he thought one of her friends was doing questionable actions. She vented about a tom named Mousefoot a lot, he acted like a jerk and would talk loudly about all the she-cats he thought were attractive during patrols, even during hunting patrols. Lionclaw reaffirmed that the tom was a jerk, and how he would never do that to her. He slowly started slipping in hints that he liked her, along with telling her that he loved her, though Foxlight took that as platonic love.

Dawnstar's Deputy, Hummingrunner, stepped down from her role to become a permanent Queen after a bite from a venomous snake left her paw dead. To gain Foxlight's admiration, Lionclaw spoke to Dawnstar and suggested Rustflank as Deputy; Dawnstar was glad to see him promote someone else instead of himself. Rustflank was surprised to be picked as Deputy, as he was sure most cats thought of him to be average at best.

Lionclaw trying to help Rustflank seemed to set off the clan as they all gossiped about it, most being able to correctly guess Lionclaw's feelings for Foxlight. He overheard some Warriors in camp talking about it, which made him worry that they would tell Foxlight about it before he could; to make it worse they all spoke badly about it because of Redbird's absence during his kithood, and the tom's abnormal behavior towards the end of his life. Out of fear, Lionclaw went to Foxlight immediately and asked her to be his mate, but based on how uncomfortable she looked, he could tell that she had already overheard the clan's gossip. It was hard, but he could still walk, he understood that he couldn't make her love him. He went to Dawnstar, the only cat he knew to trust his feelings to that was left, and expressed his sadness and his feelings for how he didn't know what to do next with his life; Dawnstar expressed her own concerns.

He thought being rejected would be the hardest part of this situation, but when Foxlight became mates with Mousefoot less than a quarter moon later his body burned with anger. Some womanizer, egotistical tom like Mousefoot could sweep any she-cat off her paws whenever he wanted to, while Lionclaw was shoved away over something he had no control over. No matter how much he hunted, the anger couldn't go away, especially since he had to see them every time he returned to camp. Some days he slepted under the Wooden Monster just so he wouldn't have to look at the couple.

Rustflank wasn't Deputy for long, a powerful sand tornado swept through camp and threw a cactus at the tom. He lost his left eye and his left leg lost all feeling in it after the needles damaged his nerves. He asked to retire early, which Dawnstar granted.

TL;DR:
-Lionclaw is on a patrol when Redbird, the elder, comes running to him. Redbird runs to Lionclaw, yelling about Mudpaw. Redbird wishes he had never mated with Lionclaw's mother, revealing that he is Lionclaw's father.

Deputy: (91 moons - 119 moons)
The clan's chattering came to a hault when Lionclaw was elected Deputy after Rustflank, the silence was deafening. Never before had a cat with no father become Deputy, but Dawnstar believed that the idea of a fatherless tom being a bad thing was something she disagreed with and she wanted to show the clan just that. The clan was unsure, but his family congratulated him. Learning about how to set patrols and which cats worked best together during patrols wasn't easy for him, he struggled a lot. It especially didn't help when he had to interact with either Foxlight or Mousefoot; the two seemed to flaunt their relationship in his face, a constant reminder of how he was alone and had no one to grow old and raise kits with.

It wasn't long before he was given another apprentice, this one went by the name Blackpaw. She was shy, but hidden under that black fur was tremendous physical strength, Lionclaw wasnt going to let it go to waste.

One day Blackpaw came to him, telling him that her mother distrusted him but she didn't know why. Lionclaw had to break the news to her, how cats distrusted him because his father abandoned him and his sisters when they were kits, and that other cats probably felt the same way about her, because she had no living father either. But he didn't want Blackpaw to face that, so he told her he would protect her and be her friend, like a father. He never asked her mother, but to himself he considered Blackpaw his now adopted daughter. He trained her to fight with raw strength, and he made sure to teach her to stand with intimidation so no one would dare mess with her the same way Quicksnake and Swiftwing did with him. When she became a warrior, she was named Blackclaw for her strength and in Lionclaw's honor.

Not long after his apprentice had become a warrior did a patrol return to camp after sighting dogs on their territory. Lionclaw called on Blackclaw, her close friend Embertail, Dawnstar, and Foxlight to aid him. Dawnstar and Lionclaw took on one dog, while Blackclaw, Embertail, and Foxlight took on another. Lionclaw was attacked by the dog, finding himself under it's powerful claws, while Blackclaw was snatched up in the other dog's jaws, being swung around until her tail snapped off her body, sending the she-cat flying. Embertail and Dawnstar tried to jump to her aid, but Dawnstar was killed when a two-leg in the distance tried to shoot one of the dogs, but missed. Embertail was snatched up in the jaws of the second dog, Foxlight became so stunned by the sudden actions that she couldn't move. Lionclaw jumped on the dog that gripped onto Embertail and clawed it until it dropped her, the dogs then retreated to the two-leg in the distance. Lionclaw immediately went to the unconscious Blackclaw, Foxlight wanted to carry Dawnstar back to camp, but Lionclaw growled for her to carry Embertail.

Embertail meant so much to Blackclaw, the whole clan was pretty sure they fancied each other. He felt guilty for suggesting she come along on the patrol. The scene of Foxlight standing back while the dogs attacked played over and over in his mind as they headed back to camp. Embertail and Blackclaw were immediately given to Buzzardwing and Lionclaw ordered another group of warriors to go and bring back Dawnstar; Foxlight immediately sought out comfort in her mate. The clan was loud with questions of what had happened.

Dawnstar was dead, Embertail was dead, and Blackclaw was hardly breathing. He didn't sleep that day. As the sun began to set he felt a heavy weight on him.

Buzzardwing accompanied him on his trip to the Star Tunnel to gain his nine lives. It was an odd trip, walking into the tunnel it wasn't an abrupt change from reality to Starclan: it was so slow that it wasn't noticeable, not until 9 figures stood before him. Most of them were cats he couldn't recognise, and some of them were as ancient as the clans themselves. One by one they shared their memories and gave him his lives: Snowmask gave him the life of justice, Sandstorm gave him the life of healing, Jumpingbounce gave him the life of appreciating a medicine cat's companionship, Embertail gave him the life of love, Softmoss gave him the life of patience, Sweetstar gave him the life of endurance, Fuzzystrike gave him the life of acceptance, Juniperclaw gave him the life of wisdom, and Dawnstar gave him the life of truth.

Leader: (119 moons- Current)
They hailed him by his new name: Lionstar, leader of Ruinclan. Now that the clan was his, it was time he avenged Embertail and Dawnstar.

He marched into camp and took his place on top of the stone behind the Leader's den, announcing his place as Ruinclan's Leader. His first act as leader was banishing Foxlight for her inaction during the dog attack, stating that had she done something Embertail would still be alive, and maybe even Dawnstar. He even speculated that maybe Foxlight wanted Embertail to die, so Blackclaw would be heart broken, which would hurt him as a result. Mousefoot argued that it wasn't the case, to which Lionstar pointed out how he was able to jump into action after getting attacked, unlike Foxlight who hadn't sustained a scratch.

The argueing went on, and in desperation Foxlight pulled the now conscious Blackclaw away from the grieving circle and asked her to talk some sense into Lionstar. She sided with Lionstar, likely wanting justice for Embertail. Backed into a corner, Foxlight and Mousefoot left the clans forever.

The clan needed someone they could depend on now that Foxlight was shown to be a traitor, so he hailed Blackclaw, showing how she was so dedicated to protecting them that she even lost her tail. He named her Missingtail in honor of this. He named Quicksnake as his deputy and dismissed the clan.

He wanted to show the clan he was a good leader, and one thing the clan had struggled with before was having enough herbs. He wanted to surprise Buzzardwing, so he didn't tell her as he held a private meeting with the Vistaclan Leader. After some time they were able to come to an aggreement: Ruinclan would leave prey at the border, and Vistaclan would leave herbs there as well.

He proudly announced this deal to Buzzardwing, and while she was relieved to have more help regarding keeping the clan safe, she knew Lionstar did it for his image, as opposed to doing it for the well-being of his clan. She knew she had a lot of work to do. They befriended each other slowly, and she showed him that he didn't have to be insecure about his past nor his mistakes with her. It was uncomfortable for him, the only cats who didn't judge him like that was his mother and sisters. Buzzardwing was able to nurture the part of Lionstar that he never allowed to grow, and without realizing it he became kinder for the sake of kindness, not to prove anyone of his kindness.

This change was most noticable during an extraordinarily harsh Green-leaf. Crowfood was found all around the territory dead from dehydration, digging at the water holes showed to be fruitless, and cutting into cacti for water was harder due to the hard, squishy skin, making piercing especially difficult. Cats were thirsty and tired all the time. Lionstar knew that if the others died from dehydration, unlike him they would not come back. So despite Buzzardwing's pleads, he refused anything that could be used to help someone else hydrate. Buzzardwing gave him herbs to aid the pain, but he ended up dying 3 times due to dehydration. Other cats struggled as well, and many families were left grieving. The rain was a blessing from Starclan, even if the heat still persisted.

Buzzardwing and Lionstar ended up becoming closer than they had expected, but because of their places in the clan they could never become mates, at least not in life. Once they passed into Starclan they would no longer be Leader and Medicine Cat, they would just be Starclan cats. So that was the plan; friends in life, mates in Starclan.

Looking back on his past began to be painful, now that he knew what his true motives were. The most painful memory was him banishing Foxlight, it was so unnecessary. He admitted his guilt to Missingtail, but in typical Missingtail fashion she didn't say anything. He wished he could have been able to show her how to open up, but he struggled with it himself.

Age started to catch up to Lionstar and his friends, Quicksnake retired to the Elder's den, and with Swiftwing half blind and just as old as Quicksnake, Lionstar decided to name Missingtail as the next deputy. He trusted her greatly. During the same moon: Vistaclan had a harsh outbreak of Rat's Bite. Lionstar feared that it would spread to Ruinclan and tried to temporarily opt out of their deal, but after some pleading he agreed to continue leaving prey at the border, but they would not accept herbs until the disease was taken care of. It took less than two moons for a better cure to be found by Groveclan, allowing Vistaclan to heal and for their trade to continue.

Many cats he knew had passed on for one reason for another, but Buzzardwing's death felt different. She had died from old age despite being younger than Lionstar. Before when someone died he could rely on Buzzardwing or Dawnstar, but the only cat he had left was Missingtail, and she didn't know how to help. He had to rely on himself, but getting up for patrols was getting harder with each passing day. He thought what he would long for was for his final life to be taken so he could be with Buzzardwing, but facing death is too scary for him.

He agreed with Weaselkit, that Ghostkit shouldn't say mean things even if their momma said to be patient. He wasn't sure about much but patience probably didn't mean "let them be mean to you".

"I don't know, I don't like it. No. He's mean," his voice was low and grumbly, like rubble rolling down a cavern. He wanted Ghostkit to stop whatever it was he was doing, he wanted his momma. "Momma!" he whined.

He lowered his body down to lay on his belly, tucking his limbs under his fluffy mass to keep warm. He wanted to be left alone right now, his family cuddling him was okay, but he didn't want the other kits, queens, or even weird bird-things to interact.
